🐶🐰 It’s National Therapy Animal Day! 🐥🐹

Animal therapy brings so much more than just a cute visit, it truly boosts wellbeing for our residents here at The Knoll.
From reducing anxiety and stress to sparking memories and conversation, animals help create calm, connection and joy.

Whether it’s a gentle stroke of a dog, watching curious small animals, or sharing cuddles with a rabbit, these moments encourage engagement and lift spirits, especially for those living with dementia or loneliness.

Over the years we’ve welcomed lots of animal therapy services- from dogs, rabbits and a miniature horse to creepy crawlies and owls!
We’re also lucky to have our very own resident cat, Angelina🐱 who has brought comfort, companionship and smiles to residents for many years. Did you know she’s the incredible age of around 18 years old?! 🥰

A simple paw, feather or whisker can make a big difference in our kind of setting. 💛

🎲 Games Morning & Time for a Pamper 🩷

What a fun-filled day we’ve had here in The Lodge! From classic tabletop games like Buckaroo to dominoes, there’s been plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and great moments shared all round.

We also treated our lovely Jeanne to some well-deserved TLC, with a relaxing wash and blow dry by Paula, leaving her feeling refreshed and looking fabulous! 😍

This morning, our lovely Jean enjoyed a peaceful breakfast in the garden with Tara from our activities team. Surrounded by the fresh spring air and warm sunshine, she spent time relaxing and chatting all about the plants in bloom. 🌼☕️

It’s these quiet, meaningful one-to-one moments that truly make the day special and ones we’ll always treasure 💛

🌸 Relax, unwind & reminisce 🌸

We had such a lovely morning exploring this week’s Memory Box Library collection- everything from old toys to manual power tools sparked plenty of memories and conversation! 💭

Afterwards, it was time for a little pampering… manicures, fresh nail polish, and soothing hand massages, all while enjoying some classic David Attenborough on the TV. 🥰🌸

💙 Blueberry Muffin Baking Fun 💙

In celebration of National Blueberry Pie Day, we enjoyed a lovely baking activity making blueberry muffins with fresh, juicy blueberries 🫐

Everyone got involved in weighing, measuring, mixing, and filling the muffin cases, enjoying every step of the process. Our fantastic kitchen team then baked them to perfection! 😍

They’ll be enjoyed later with a nice cuppa ☕

This morning our residents got creative making beautiful wind chimes for the garden 🌸
With a selection of colourful ribbons, beads and bells to choose from, everyone added their own special touch - and don’t they look lovely hanging outside? 🥰

The sunshine was just too good to miss, so we decided to stay out and enjoy lunch in the garden too! ☀️🍽️

✨ Prize Bingo & Lunch in the Garden! 💚

What a beautiful spring day! ☀️
This morning it was eyes down for a few rounds of our ever-popular Prize Bingo 🎲 with lots of lovely prizes won for both line and house… well done to all our winners! 🏆

We then made the most of the gorgeous sunshine with lunch out on the Lodge patio area.🌸 There’s nothing better than good food, great company, and a little extra vitamin D! ☀️

The lovely Amanda, our mobile hairdresser, visits each week to keep everyone looking and feeling their best 💛

What a lovely day here at The Knoll! 💛

We’ve enjoyed some St George’s Day themed activities whilst sampling some of the goodies we baked yesterday. Ann’s been doing a little pre-birthday online shopping 🎁, and we made the most of the sunshine with a delightful lunch in the garden ☀️🌸

Days like these are always full of joy, laughter, and little moments that mean the most ✨
