๐ A Huge Thank You to Mendip Mobility! ๐
We want to say a massive thank you to Mendip Mobility for their continued support in keeping our scooters in excellent working order. They are the trusted company that services, repairs, and maintains all of our mobility equipment โ and we honestly couldnโt do this without them.
Our most recent scooter (pictured below!) is a perfect example of their kindness and generosity. When the motor broke on one of our scooters and the cost of replacing it was far too high for us as a small charity, we thought weโd have to scrap it. But thanks to Mendip Mobility, they managed to build a fully functional scooter using good parts from our original and their own, saving us hundreds and ensuring our customers can continue getting out and about independently.
If any of our customers are ever in need of repairs, servicing, or advice about mobility scooters, we canโt recommend Mendip Mobility enough. They are reputable, trustworthy, and genuinely care about their community.
They also have a brilliant showroom full of mobility equipment for sale. Pop up and say hi to the lovely team at Forrest Hill, Yeovil! www.mendipmobility.co.uk
๐ ๏ธ๐ Thank you, Mendip Mobility, from all of us at Yeovil Shopmobility!

What an amazing Awareness Day! ๐
A huge thank you to the dream team who made it all happen today, Glenda Stevenson, Kerri Rowswell, and Sue White (Mum), it simply wouldn't have been the success it was without you guys.
We raised over ยฃ80, but more than that, we raised awareness, shared laughter, made new friends, and even signed up a new volunteer!
I'm honestly overwhelmed by the incredible support shown by our lovely customers and community. Special thanks to Lucas, Keira, and everyone who donated and took part today, helped out, or just came by to say hello, Shopmobility needs you, and today you all stepped up.
As Keira wisely said today:
"Itโs not what you know, itโs who you know!"
Feeling proud, grateful, and inspired. ๐

๐ Itโs time to say thank you! ๐
This Volunteersโ Week, weโre shouting out one of our quiet heroes Michael, whoโs been giving his time, energy, and heart to Yeovil Shopmobility for over 10 years ๐
Even while holding down a job at ASDA, Michael always finds time to help. If we need him, heโs there. No fuss, no spotlight, just pure dedication and pure Michael (and plenty of banter too! ๐)
Heโs more than a volunteer! Heโs taught us a lot too, kept us laughing, and helped keep this place running. The truth is, we couldnโt do it without him.
๐ Thank you, Michael. You deserve every bit of recognition and so much more.

The Project opened in June 2006. We were fortunate to have David Laws our local MP to officially launch the scheme. We had been donated 5 New Scooters and set up money from the District and Town Council. Office and store facilities provided by the Quedam.
Mr Clive Davis, who served as Yeovil Mayor from 2012-13 was a founder member of Shopmobility and we were fortunate to have him promoting the service at every opportunity.
Those of you who know Clive will know that he sadly passed away May 30th 2014 and since then plenty of tributes have been paid in his memory. He was a keen motorcyclist and was confined to a wheelchair after a biking accident. Cliveโs support for the disabled of Yeovil will never be forgotten. He was a great man whoโs achievements had touched the lives of so many. He was a kind, open hearted and a selfless man who put his heart and soul into helping others. โHe was a gentle giant, certainly in heart, soul and friendshipโ.
At present we have huge support from the Quedam who provide our office and store. We have 7 Trustees as well as important representatives who help us in the general running of the service. The Committee meet about 6 -8 times a year.
Each day we are open is either covered by the Manager or Assistant Manager together with volunteers.. It is true to say that the scheme would find it extremely difficult to manage without the loyal band of volunteers both in the office and dealing with the equipment.
We are much more than just a shopping service and you do not have to be registered disabled to use us. Many people find themselves house bound or with restricted mobility whether through permanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age, we as a scheme enable people with limited mobility access to shops, services and Leisure facilities in and around Yeovil. Many people now also have their own equipment at home but find it easier to use our service than get their equipment in and out of the car.
