💙 What a week for Yeovil Shopmobility, we really needed this! 💙

On Saturday we held our Table Top Sale at The Old Barn Club and raised a fantastic £291.25 🎉 Every penny that will go towards helping us keep people in Yeovil mobile and independent.

It was such a lovely day, full of laughter, cake, coffee, and great company. A huge thank you to:

✨ Keira for the gorgeous cakes
✨ Karen for the plant donations
… and of course all our stallholders, family, friends, and supporters, you know who you are 💕

And the good news doesn’t stop there… we were also awarded funding from the The National Lottery Community Fund 🙌 This continued support from them is such a lifeline for our small charity, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you to everyone one who came, supported, donated, and joined in, we had an absolute blast (and yes, spent plenty at the stalls too! 😂).

We’re raising funds for Yeovil Shopmobility, a local charity based on the lower level of the Quedam Shopping Centre. We provide:

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Mendip Mobility! 🌟

We want to say a massive thank you to Mendip Mobility for their continued support in keeping our scooters in excellent working order. They are the trusted company that services, repairs, and maintains all of our mobility equipment — and we honestly couldn’t do this without them.

Our most recent scooter (pictured below!) is a perfect example of their kindness and generosity. When the motor broke on one of our scooters and the cost of replacing it was far too high for us as a small charity, we thought we’d have to scrap it. But thanks to Mendip Mobility, they managed to build a fully functional scooter using good parts from our original and their own, saving us hundreds and ensuring our customers can continue getting out and about independently.

If any of our customers are ever in need of repairs, servicing, or advice about mobility scooters, we can’t recommend Mendip Mobility enough. They are reputable, trustworthy, and genuinely care about their community.

They also have a brilliant showroom full of mobility equipment for sale. Pop up and say hi to the lovely team at Forrest Hill, Yeovil!

📣 We’re looking for a volunteer with PAYE experience! Can you help?

Are you experienced with PAYE and looking to give back to your community?

Yeovil Shopmobility is seeking a volunteer with experience in PAYE (Pay As You Earn) to help manage our small charity’s payroll responsibilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll knowledge who would like to support a local charity making a real difference to people with limited mobility.

We’re looking for someone who:
✔ Has practical experience using PAYE (including HMRC submissions)
✔ Can volunteer a small amount of time monthly or as needed
✔ Understands the importance of confidentiality and accuracy

Your support will help keep our service running smoothly and compliantly.

As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we’re feeling incredibly grateful, and overwhelmed (in the best way!), by all the support we've received.

What an amazing Awareness Day! 💙

A huge thank you to the dream team who made it all happen today, Glenda Stevenson, Kerri Rowswell, and Sue White (Mum), it simply wouldn't have been the success it was without you guys.

We raised over £80, but more than that, we raised awareness, shared laughter, made new friends, and even signed up a new volunteer!

I'm honestly overwhelmed by the incredible support shown by our lovely customers and community. Special thanks to Lucas, Keira, and everyone who donated and took part today, helped out, or just came by to say hello, Shopmobility needs you, and today you all stepped up.

As Keira wisely said today:
"It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!"

🌟 It’s time to say thank you! 🌟

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re shouting out one of our quiet heroes Michael, who’s been giving his time, energy, and heart to Yeovil Shopmobility for over 10 years 💙

Even while holding down a job at ASDA, Michael always finds time to help. If we need him, he’s there. No fuss, no spotlight, just pure dedication and pure Michael (and plenty of banter too! 😂)

He’s more than a volunteer! He’s taught us a lot too, kept us laughing, and helped keep this place running. The truth is, we couldn’t do it without him.

👏 Thank you, Michael. You deserve every bit of recognition and so much more.
