๐ CHRISTMAS CLOSING TIMES ๐
After what has been an incredibly busy and demanding year, Yeovil ShopMobility will be taking a well-earned break over Christmas to give our small team of staff and volunteers some much-needed rest and time with their families.
After working tirelessly all year, through the challenges of rebuilding and keeping the service running, it feels important to pause, recharge, and come back ready for another year of helping our community stay mobile and independent.
ShopMobility will be closed from
Tuesday 23rd December and reopen on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
From all of us at Yeovil ShopMobility, Staff, Volunteers and Trustees, thank you for your continued kindness, patience and loyalty throughout 2025. Your encouragement keeps us going more than you know.
Wishing you all a warm, peaceful and very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy New Year!

โ๏ธ This winter will be tough for many local residents, with poor transport links and long, dark days making it harder than ever for people to get out and about.
Thatโs why our Slinky Bus Service and Volunteer Car Scheme are so important โ helping neighbours stay connected, get to essential appointments, and feel less isolated. ๐๐
If you think you could spare even one day a week to be a volunteer car driver, weโd love to hear from you.
Your time could make a huge difference to someone right here in our community.
๐ Please get in touch to find out more.

๐ What a week for Yeovil Shopmobility, we really needed this! ๐
On Saturday we held our Table Top Sale at The Old Barn Club and raised a fantastic ยฃ291.25 ๐ Every penny that will go towards helping us keep people in Yeovil mobile and independent.
It was such a lovely day, full of laughter, cake, coffee, and great company. A huge thank you to:
โจ Kerri Rowswell
โจ Glenda Stevenson
โจ Sue White (Mum)
โจ Keira for the gorgeous cakes
โจ Karen for the plant donations
โฆ and of course all our stallholders, family, friends, and supporters, you know who you are ๐
And the good news doesnโt stop thereโฆ we were also awarded funding from the The National Lottery Community Fund ๐ This continued support from them is such a lifeline for our small charity, and we couldnโt be more grateful.
Thank you to everyone one who came, supported, donated, and joined in, we had an absolute blast (and yes, spent plenty at the stalls too! ๐).
Feel free to share our good news โ every share helps us spread the word ๐
Hereโs to keeping Shopmobility rolling for our community ๐ฆฝ๐ต๐

The Project opened in June 2006. We were fortunate to have David Laws our local MP to officially launch the scheme. We had been donated 5 New Scooters and set up money from the District and Town Council. Office and store facilities provided by the Quedam.
Mr Clive Davis, who served as Yeovil Mayor from 2012-13 was a founder member of Shopmobility and we were fortunate to have him promoting the service at every opportunity.
Those of you who know Clive will know that he sadly passed away May 30th 2014 and since then plenty of tributes have been paid in his memory. He was a keen motorcyclist and was confined to a wheelchair after a biking accident. Cliveโs support for the disabled of Yeovil will never be forgotten. He was a great man whoโs achievements had touched the lives of so many. He was a kind, open hearted and a selfless man who put his heart and soul into helping others. โHe was a gentle giant, certainly in heart, soul and friendshipโ.
At present we have huge support from the Quedam who provide our office and store. We have 7 Trustees as well as important representatives who help us in the general running of the service. The Committee meet about 6 -8 times a year.
Each day we are open is either covered by the Manager or Assistant Manager together with volunteers.. It is true to say that the scheme would find it extremely difficult to manage without the loyal band of volunteers both in the office and dealing with the equipment.
We are much more than just a shopping service and you do not have to be registered disabled to use us. Many people find themselves house bound or with restricted mobility whether through permanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age, we as a scheme enable people with limited mobility access to shops, services and Leisure facilities in and around Yeovil. Many people now also have their own equipment at home but find it easier to use our service than get their equipment in and out of the car.
