TUESDAY TESTIMONIAL 🌺

‘Get a drink down you!’ As this was one of Alan’s many catchphrases, we ended his ceremony with it so his orders could be followed by everyone at The Walnut Tree pub afterwards!

We managed to fit in all of Alan’s famous sayings (of which there were about 30!) and celebrated his long and busy life.

Alan and Margaret celebrated nearly 67 years of marriage and family life was vital to Alan.

His love of Elvis was remembered and the special song of Unchained Melody was very moving as it was played with wonderful photos of Alan and his family.

Donations were given to the amazing Hospice at Home service from St Leonard's Hospice.

Colourful clothing was the dress code again on Friday at East Riding Crematorium.

It is very rare that the traditional colour of black is requested these days and the majority of funerals I conduct are ones where bright colours are the preference or have a theme of some description to personalise the ceremony and reflect the person being remembered. ❤️🌈

This is pretty easy for me to be honest as practically the only black items in my wardrobe are knickers! 🤣

Pam’s beautiful eco-friendly bamboo coffin became decorated with messages from friends and family during her ceremony and her favourite decorations were added.

It was a moving moment when people added their personalised messages during the ceremony at Natural Endings.

The space and time allowance meant this special touch created a soothing feeling and an aesthetic therapy sense that brought a great deal of comfort to those saying their farewells to Pam.

It was a beautiful morning at Maple Park Crematorium at Maple Park for Audrey’s celebration of life ceremony where bright colours were the dress code!

Audrey’s ceremony was truly beautiful due to the personalised details such as the Finkle Street Singers leading a song that Audrey loved (Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen) which everybody joined in with.🎵

The tributes from the grandchildren were wonderful and the uplifting song about happy memories of Grandma written and sung by Audrey’s granddaughter was made even more special with the video of them all being together and having fun.❤️

It was an honour to be asked by Audrey’s family to be part of this special day.

Maple Park is a wonderful venue with beautiful grounds and modern facilities to accommodate all kinds of ceremonies. The time allowance also ensures a full celebration of life can be held.

With the start the long summer days, it was lovely to receive this card and butterfly decoration from Sandra’s family.🦋

With just 6 family members attending her ceremony, it was very intimate but meant that we had a really good giggle and laugh about her life and character.

The family handed this to me on the day and sent the message below that touched my heart.

‘Hi Louisa thank you again for everything you have done for mum’s eulogy. The words were absolutely perfect and made us laugh too at a heartbreaking time , which mum would love. Even you wearing a touch of yellow too 🌼💛 you have been so kind and understanding ### best wishes the Gaudet n Ledgeway family’❤️

TUESDAY TESTIMONIAL 🌺

Looking back to the moving moment when everybody joined in with singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ at David’s celebration of life held in the bowling club he was a member of, it was so warming to receive this Google Review from his family.

As the funeral director suggested the whole service be held at a special place, it meant more personal details could be arranged than at the crematorium.

As David was a hairdresser for 48 years at Newton’s in Heworth, York, David was well-known indeed in the community and as we celebrated his life with stories about his work, family and character, the slideshow that the funeral director arranged brought back many memories indeed.

The venue of Natural Endings was perfect for Pam’s ceremony.

The former Post Office depot provides a wonderful open space with light bouncing through the large windows that offers peacefulness and calmness.

All of the necessary facilities for audio and visuals are available too and the crucial element of not having to worry about time means that ceremonies can deliver a full celebration of life.

As the ceremony was on a Saturday, it made it much easier for people travelling long distances and to fit in with work schedules too.

Thank you to Lisa and Rosie for arranging everything perfectly for Pam’s ceremony.

There are alternative options available. A bit of research and asking around certainly does help when planning a ceremony for a loved one.

At Pam’s celebration of life ceremony, it was a beautiful moment when everybody came and tied their messages to her beautiful wicker coffin whilst a song she had requested herself played as tribute to her.

As the funeral ceremony was on a Saturday and held in the beautiful venue of Natural Endings, we were able to hear many stories without looking at the clock worrying about time.

These alternative options are available to anyone and can be arranged easily.
I was truly honoured to be asked to conduct Pam’s ceremony.

TUESDAY TESTIMONIAL 🌺

In his impressive career as a professional footballer, John Meredith had played for Doncaster, Sheffield Wednesday, Chesterfield, Gillingham and Bournemouth.

His knowledge and skills meant he excelled in his career in sports insurance afterwards and being hugely involved in local village football teams kept his sportiness truly active.

Fundamentally to John however was supporting his son and family and as a music lover, John supported his son, Andrew by constantly going to his gigs as a loyal fan of The Mix - Band.

It turned out that I had the honour of having John in the audience at a Tri-Starrs gig I did in Cavern Club Liverpool where Andrew’s band was playing the same day too in a gig for York bands.

Thank you to Andrew for this wonderful Google Review and allowing me the honour to celebrate the life of a professional footballer and wonderful father.

Today would’ve been Kirsty’s 48th birthday❤️

These photos are from our school days which were truly happy days that I’ll never forget.

Although it’s now over 20 years since she sadly passed away, these are memories that I and all our schoolmates will always cherish.

GOOGLE REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After Linda had found the location of Mowthorpe Garden of Rest, her family followed her love of the gardens by having her celebration of life ceremony there.

They contacted me directly and we planned the day together so that a full ceremony was arranged and held outside.

Music was played, family unable to make it joined via live stream, ornaments and decorations were arranged, a full ceremony conducted and everybody helped plant snowdrops in Linda and her sister’s resting place.

Linda had visited Mowthorpe Garden of Rest and fell in love with it hence chose the location to be her place of rest.

Her family contacted me asking if I’d conduct a full celebration of life ceremony for Linda outside which I of course was honoured to do.

Although it was a bit chilly, Linda’s family and I arranged the decorations, the music, ceremony arrangements and even live streaming for people unable to attend all in the great outdoors.

Linda’s sister Doreen had sadly passed away just a few weeks before and so the two sisters were laid to rest by each other’s sides forevermore. ❤️

After we scattered their ashes together, as can be seen in the video, the family arranged the decorations around the Lilac tree to protect Linda and Doreen which we recognised by listening to a song and with a reading about sisterly bonds.

The family planted the snowdrops and placed butterflies into the soil as we played an acoustic version of I wanna dance with somebody by Boyce Avenue in tribute to Linda’s love of Whitney Houston.

Full ceremonies and services can be arranged and conducted for interments and scattering of ashes so that a full celebration of life can be held.
