CHANGE THE WAY YOU ASSESS INDOOR AIR QUALITY AND EVALUATE THE RISK OF DAMP, MOULD AND CONDENSATION WITH OUR BRAND NEW APP THE ‘COLEMANATOR’
You may remember a few months back we dropped a teaser on LinkedIn about a project myself and Ross were working on.
Our idea was to develop an easy and accurate way for surveyors to assess Indoor Air Quality, diagnose the causes of damp and evaluate the risk of condensation and mould.
Our mission was to build a platform which we’ve put together as an ‘App’ (the Colemanator) which can be used by anyone, surveyors, practitioners’ homeowners and even tenants. Using just a hygrometer our ‘App’ allows you to measure and evaluate the internal environmental conditions against industry recognised parameters using our IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) matrix.
Our App requires the user to input just '5' parameters from the internal and external environments before analysing the data and providing an overall Indoor Air Quality Score with individual evaluations on Temperature, Relative Humidity and Vapour Pressure Excess. More so, the ‘App’ is able to calculate conditions at a problematic surface and evaluate the 'Mould Risk to Surface' using a smart matrix.
What’s really special tho, is the ‘App’ incorporates two smart matrices which are able to calculate the ambient and surface conditions based on real life changes allowing you to instantly see the influence of temperature and relative humidity changes before they occur. Thus, simplifying the understanding of what are often complex atmospheric imbalances.
Just in-case you need it, we’ve also included the ‘brains of the App’ a full psychrometric calculator which computes all the internal and external data such as; temperature, RH, dew point, vapour pressure, mixing ratio, absolute humidity and a whole lot more, so no more scrolling around on those old psychrometric charts.
Both myself and Ross had been using these techniques for years, however, until now there has never been a simple platform for others to follow without the input of a specialist in our field. With our ‘App’ you become the specialist!
Our App the 'Colemanator' is a game changer, another level when it comes to understanding the conditions which cause condensation dampness and mould in buildings and should be in the palm of every building surveyor, home inspector, damp specialist, landlord and tenant.
Not only have we designed and built this App which is available NOW to purchase from the App store but we've also built a dedicated website to accompany the App, explaining how the App works, how to use the matrices and how to interpret the results. There's also plenty of information on dampness and mould with video tutorials presented by our friend and colleague 'Graham Coleman'.
We've had to introduce a small fee to purchase the App simply to help cover the expenditure of its development which we’ve self-funded. This App however, is not a money maker, it’s a gift which comes from the three of us with over 90 years of combined experience in the diagnosis of damp, mould and condensation in an effort to make our industry better and ensure everyone can live in a dry healthy damp and mould free home.
The App is currently available on Android devices only (mobile phones and tablets) and will be launched within coming days on IOS (Apple). The App fee is just £9.99 for subscribers in 2023 however, we are already working on the development of a super Pro version to be launched in October later this year which will include features you never even considered before.
