Old School Medical Practice We are a part-dispensing Practice based in Copmanthorpe. The Practice area is large, mainly rural and serves approximately 7500 patients.

There are 3 male and 4 female Clinicians.

Transport update!
We have been informed that York Wheels have now renewed their contract with the Integrated Care Board! This means their provision of transport for those patients that are unable to access Copmanthorpe Surgery is now open for bookings again.

Now our extension is finally ready…we move on to the next phase! All existing clinical rooms, toilets, reception area and the waiting room will be refurbished over the next two months. Our waiting room is now closed off but we have provided seating for patients in a few areas.

Work on the waiting room, main corridor and reception area will be done at weekends. We are also replacing all windows. This is perhaps the most disruptive phase for our team so please be patient with us..we are nearly there!

OSMP Easter Opening Hours

We will close at 6pm on Thursday 17th April and reopen at 8am on Tuesday 22nd April. If you require urgent medical assistance whilst we are closed please call NHS 111 or dial 999 for emergencies.

The surgery will be closed tomorrow afternoon, 12th March 2025, at 12.30pm until 6pm for a York wide protected learning event for clinicians.

We are experiencing a few issues this morning with our telephone system. This has been reported and we are awaiting an update. Some calls are getting through and the team are trying their best to deal with them. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Construction on our long awaited surgery extension will begin w/c 17th February. Our car park will be closed to everyone for the first two days to enable safe delivery of the site office, amenities and some materials. The construction area will then be fully and safely fenced off and the remaining car park will then reopen for patient only parking.

There is a notice board in our waiting room which displays the plans and some further information. All are welcome to come and take a look.

We have been made aware of some issues that patients may be having when calling the old Bishopthorpe telephone number. This number should have been ported over when we changed systems but it looks like they have been unable to do this. The main surgery number is fully operational, please use this number if you need to contact us. 01904 706455. We are still looking in to this.
