Quick & Healthy homemade pasta sauce using that leftover spinach you’ve got in the fridge!

Take ingredient measurements with a pinch of salt and play around with it! Meals should be fun, creative and work to your tastebuds!

I have previously added onion, swapped feta for goats cheese, used reduced fat cream cheese and maybe a few too many times gone a little OTT with the Parmesan (which obviously tasted 😍).

Teams up beautifully with a salmon fillet and tomatoes. Which also makes it a perfectly balanced meal 👌

Your weekly self care reminder💆‍♀️…

Contrary to my photo choice, this doesn’t mean booking a spa day every week (I wish).

Self care comes in so many forms and for the most part they do not need to have a high price tag attached.

As much as getting our nails done, a little bit of retail therapy or a visit to the hairdressers is FABULOUS💅…just remember there are simpler, inexpensive ways to practise self care. Below are just a few ideas:

💚Reading
💚Breakfast in Bed
💚Taking a bath
💚Attending a fitness class
💚Meeting or calling a loved one
💚A walk in nature
💚Listening to music or a podcast
💚A little bit of peace and quiet (the dream)

Remember, our perspective, practicing mindfulness and finding appreciation for these little, actually quite mundane moments is what makes them so precious.

Just slow down, live in the present moment and you will find a little bit of self care in each and every day 🥰

These ingredients are great additions if you find it hard to get in your 5 a day!

⭐️Starting with mushrooms…

Eat them raw, fry them, grill them or throw them in any sauce you are making! Perfect in a chilli or as an extra to a pasta dish. Make them the star of the show with creamy mushrooms on toast or get creative and use as a meat substitute.

Cooking tip - the best way to preserve the nutritional properties is to grill your mushrooms with a little olive oil.

A reminder that it’s the small habits over time that shape us, not what we do in a single day.

This quote is transferable to all areas of our lives but today I am using it as a reminder to simply ENJOY!

It’s Easter weekend, enjoy time with loved ones, go on adventures, be in nature, read a book, switch off from work, do nothing and eat that chocolate egg (if you want to)!!

Just be present, appreciate the little things and do whatever feeds your soul 💚

Our mindset needs to be trained just like our physical bodies. Most of us (including myself) are not born with that “glass half full” mentality and we have to actively challenge our negative thoughts and find growth in our trauma.

We need to change this fixed mindset to a growth mindset, below are just a few simple ways we can start that process….

💚 See challenges as new opportunities. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. We grow stronger with every setback!

💚Accept that perfection doesn’t exist. You are perfectly imperfect as you are, embrace your uniqueness because no one else can be you!

💚Start journaling - this is something new to me but it is life changing. Simply writing your thoughts and feelings can help you gain control of your emotions, increase self awareness and find more gratitude. For me, the idea of writing in an empty book felt overwhelming so instead I’ve started with a 6 minute diary. Three minutes, three questions morning and night, that’s all it is!

Wellness coaching is 100% mindset. It’s all about helping you create better habits, a positive self image & find your drive, your passion for life.

Regardless of your fitness/nutrition goals, what you will not see me promoting; fad diets, cuts & bulks, “earning” or “burning off” meals or just one particular type of exercise/training style.

The methods we choose are for healthy, sustainable results that must be tailored to you to work.💚

Along the way you will learn about yourself, you will reach an understanding to why you’ve not hit your goals before and be able to implement strategies to not fall back into destructive patterns.

The end result is to not need me. You can reach a point of independence, knowing how to deal with your personal triggers and continue to keep living a happier & healthier life your way, your rules.

Two things we need to cherish and find time for:

💚 Spending quality time with loved ones. Re-connect, communicate and appreciate those closest to you.
💚 Self care. When was the last time you allowed yourself to just stop, switch off and genuinely relax?

Today mum and I did just that, spending it at the most beautiful spa. Something we both massively appreciate as we don’t give ourselves much downtime nor do we get to spend much time together 🥰

I have been feeling conflicted with how I plan to “sell myself” as a nutritional advisor in a market saturated with “specialists” who have way too many opinions…

There’s one thing I do know, I want to encourage a positive relationship with food resulting in a healthier, happier and fulfilled life.

To do the above gets confusing, with so many mixed messages on social media on the right or wrong approach. Everything gets a bad rep…..“meal plans are too restrictive”, “macro tracking is obsessive”, “flexible dieting is unhealthy” and so on…

F*ck?! 🤯 How do I help people without triggering or pi***ng someone off!?!

Then I realised, and I want you to realise too, none of these methods are wrong. It’s all about you,figuring out together the method that suits you, your goals, your lifestyle, your triggers, YOUR NEEDS.

The ultimate aim is of course to eat mindfully; to nourish our bodies correctly and respectfully, to not feel food guilt, to not punish yourself for “over-indulging”, to understanding hunger cues and to quite simply enjoy a wide variety of foods!

Hi, I’m Deena 🙋‍♀️

I started PIM because I felt online fitness coaching was missing a key ingredient - your wellbeing. The fitness industry is too focused on the superficial, the quick fixes and those extreme photo transformations to grab your attention. But it is missing the whole point - Healthy isn't a body type. Healthy looks different on each & everyone of us. 

I have "been there, done that" when it comes to diet and exercise. As early as 13 I was dealing with disordered eating, from restrict & binge to taking diet pills to doing 300 sit-ups after each meal! I've obsessively tracked my calories, tried and failed every fad diet going and used exercise as a punishment for over indulging. I have really done it all! 

Now, I have reached a place that is Perfectly Imperfect, I eat a balanced diet without restriction, I exercise because I enjoy it and I prioritise rest and recovery out of respect for my body. 

Using my past experiences along with my career in fitness coaching, level 4 nutrition & weight management qualification and a degree in Psychology, I want to help others reach their health & wellbeing goals using a non-restrictive approach to ensure a life of balance & fulfilment.
