Here's your reminder to book your session for the upcoming week as well as a little update!

I know other can be daunting to come to a group you haven't been to before but please know we are waiting to welcome you with open arms and no expectations of you to do anything other than come as you are.

If you're nervous about walking in by yourself, I'm happy to meet you outside or have a call before group to answer any questions.

On Mondays, at the Folk Hall, we are in the Russet room - enter the cafe area and walk through the door to the right of the cafe serving area....go up the stairs on your right (or take the lift) and follow the signs to "Russet"....you will pass through the open seating area upstairs to above the reception desk below. You will find Russet room to your left.

On Thursdays, at Southlands church, come through the Planet Food cafe into the large church worship hall....keep going to the end section behind glass doors. You will see June doing mini-massages and find me (and Apollo) just beyond at the end of the building.

Try this One Minute Reset and tell us in the comments how you felt

Feeling stressed right now?

Try this 60-second reset:
1️⃣ Inhale slowly for 4
2️⃣ Exhale slowly for 6
3️⃣ Drop your shoulders
4️⃣ Unclench your jaw

That’s it.

You’ve just told your nervous system:
“I am safe.”

Small actions create big change.

❓Why do YOU think talking Isn’t Always Enough❓

You can talk for hours and still feel:
• on edge
• overwhelmed
• exhausted
• snappy
• depleted

That’s not failure. That’s biology.
Trauma lives in the body so just talking about it misses out a vital part of processing - body-based (somatic) work.

This Stress Awareness Month, try this instead:
👉Slow your breathing - great for teaching the nervous system you are safe.
👉Unclench your jaw - to release tension.
👉Feel your feet on the floor - to ground and bring yourself into the present.
👉Regulate first. Reflect second.

I thought I was kind… but I was people pleasing.

I didn’t realise I was people pleasing.

I just thought I was being a good person.

Easy going. Kind.
The one who keeps things smooth. The peacemaker.

But inside…
I was constantly checking myself.

“Was that okay?”
“Did I upset them?”
“Should I have said that differently?”

It was exhausting!!

And the hardest part?
I didn’t really know what I felt or needed anymore. I felt so disconnected.

Learning about the nervous system helped me see this with so much more compassion.

This wasn’t weakness. It was protection.

My body had learned that keeping others happy meant staying safe.

So of course it felt hard to change.

I’m still unlearning it now.

Slowly. Gently.

Pausing before I respond.
Letting things feel a bit uncomfortable.
Telling the truth in small ways.

It’s not about becoming someone else.

It’s about coming back to yourself.

If you see yourself in this… you’re not alone ❤️
