👣 It’s time to move on. 👣
Various changes have made running Connected Soles near impossible. It’s always sad saying goodbye, particularly to something that I’ve put so much in to and care about deeply. It’s that care that has helped me to make the decision to officially close. I’ve got to feel happy in the treatments that I provide and my energies are now being pulled in different directions. It doesn’t leave enough for reflexology.

Thank you to everyone who has let me near their feet. I hope that you enjoyed your treatments and will continue to invest in yourself. You deserve it!

With that in mind, I can recommend some other wonderful people to visit. Please see the list below.

All that remains is to say thank you, again, and best foot forward!

With kindness,
Kate of Connected Soles

⭐️Recommendations:⭐️

Laura Lawrence Massage Therapy
Laura doesn’t do reflexology but does offer a huge variety of gorgeous treatments! I highly recommend her, having enjoyed her treatments myself!

Dawn at The Treatment Room in Stamford Bridge.
Dawn and I have been doing treatment swaps. She has years of experience and training. Recently she trained in a technique called Reflexology Lymph Drainage and I thoroughly recommend it. RLD is believed to help with a huge variety of health issues.

Katie Morton.
Katie and I have crossed paths twice. Once as science teachers and then again as trainee reflexologists! Training alongside Katie, it was clear how passionate she felt about providing tailored treatments to each individual client. Katie was driven to learn as much as possible and genuinely cares about the treatments she provides. In training we have to practice on one another so I am very happy to recommend her.

I had a little trip to the osteopath today.
as I’m suffering with a teeny bit of whiplash. Always best to get these things sorted, rather than minor injuries becoming longer term problems.
I’m a repeat client at Heworth Osteopathic as I’m always very happy with my treatment. Back in 2 weeks and hopefully I’ll be sorted then… until the next time!

Connected Soles Re-Open!

After a much needed, extended Christmas break, I’m back open. Ready to take bookings and bring you that awesome relaxation that, let’s be honest, you probably really need right now!

There are some changes:
🌿 My treatment room is no more.
Life continues to bring change and my business has to change and adapt to continue. My husband now works from home 100% of the time meaning that my beloved treatment room now has to be his office.

🌿 Treatments at Connected Soles are now downstairs. Hopefully I’ll be able to share some photos soon!

🌿 Treatments can be in your home. I can come to you and bring everything we need, including the super duper relaxation chair. I am mobile!

Covid protocols are still in place, of course.

💫 Online booking via the website is open again. Worth noting though, if you want an appointment and there’s nothing available on the online system, get in touch I may be able to find a time for you so don’t give up!

⭐️ Reduced appointment availability. My treatment days are now Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. I’m temporarily working part-time teaching. To balance that job, with Connected Soles, as well as my own health and family means that I have limited treatment slots available.

So, there are changes, but essentially as soon as you’re in that chair with your feet up, feeling cosy, secure and warm you’re not going to notice any of them! It’s the same wonderful reflexology.

I’ve got my own first treatment of 2022 booked in for February and I can’t wait.

Get in touch and I’ll see you soon.

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re well. It can be a bit of a battle to stay healthy at this time of year but I do hope it’s a battle that you’re winning.

With my own health in mind, I have decided to take an extended Christmas break. Life has been very busy. I returned to teaching part-time after 6 years away! It was a very welcome return but it is certainly taking a significant slice of my time and energy. My teaching will run alongside Connected Soles which means I get the best of both worlds!

I won’t lie, it’s been a tough year for the business. Many months were spent closed during lockdown and, even after being allowed to open, I’ve had to close repeatedly because of covid. It has made it difficult to get a momentum going or to grow the business. It’s also very expensive to have a business and it be closed. Lockdown and home working have added extra complications and difficulties to my home treatments.

Going forward I have lots and lots of ideas for Connected Soles. Mobile treatments are a new addition which I’m enjoying and I hope they prove popular in 2022. There are many, many different courses and ways to develop in reflexology and I am working away in the background on developing my skills - just wait and see!

Even although my treatment room will be closed for Christmas, I am still here! Gift vouchers are available if you’d like to put them on your Christmas list - get in touch. If you would like to get your next treatment booked in for when I reopen then please send me a message.

So yes, I’m taking some time. I practice what I preach! I hope that we all have a wonderful Christmas break. Personally, I’m looking forward to what may come: possibilities, opportunities and adventures. I am full of dreams and schemes!

Look after yourself.

Phew! What a week that has been. I’d hoped for a big week what with it being World Reflexology Week and Connected Soles birthday but this was not the week I expected.

My planned celebratory promotions had to wait. My VRT training was paused. I was completely and utterly exhausted. Overwhelmed and struggling.
Then, came some news which made for a very tough day: I had to seriously consider whether to continue with Connected Soles. I was supposed to be celebrating my first anniversary and, let me tell you, opening a contact business, during a pandemic, having to close repeatedly and deal with my own health issues meant that I felt my first anniversary really was something to celebrate. Instead I was genuinely facing closure, or at least an extended break. This week has emotionally kicked the absolute crap out of me… but wait…things got better 😃

I had a reflexology treatment with the lovely Dawn in Stamford Bridge and that did wonders for me I think. It mentally gave me time and space. Physically, it helped to recharge my worn out body.
From that space, and with lots of support and encouragement from other reflexologists online, my brain started working and trying out different ideas. I like to think of myself as a natural problem and it seemed to me that I was at a fork in the road with my business. One path would lead to the closure of my business; the other to the unknown and to risks but potentially growth of Connected Soles.

So I have chosen the path of action and now I am excited. With turning 1 I had already decided that I wanted to smarten up my uniform and here I am wearing my new purple tunic (just like I wore when I was training!)! With some of the things happening at home, I have decided to begin offering mobile treatments - more about that coming soon!

And finally, there’s more. It’s something really exciting and I’m keeping it a secret for a while longer 😏🤫 Keeping it quiet is going to challenge me! I do love to share 😂

Yeah, what a week! Not what I had planned at all but life is like that. It doesn’t care much for plans and, in truth, I’m ending this week in a more exciting place, with more opportunities than I would have been. It turns out all that angsty stuff served a positive purpose.

So although things are coming good, I’m still absolutely battered - as the pic shows!

What a week!
Happy World Reflexology Week 2021 and happy birthday to Connected Soles!

20/09/2021

It’s a big week in the world of reflexology this week. Firstly, it’s World Reflexology Week which is a time for us to celebrate all things reflexology. However, even more importantly and a much bigger deal if I do say so myself l… this week is Connected Soles first anniversary! My baby is 1!
I have so many ideas for year 2 and, you wouldn’t know it, but I’m putting so much work in behind the scenes to make sure Connected Soles and my reflexology are growing.
THANK YOU for all your support. I couldn’t do it without you.

When I was running I was awarded medals all the time, not for winning, but for finishing. I could feel pride at pushing through something tough. Now my challenge is to make sure I rest enough to keep well. There are no medals for that. I saw this post and resonated with something I want to say to people. There might not be any medals for resting but I hope you’re proud because it’s important and far, far harder to do than many realise. 💜

Always interesting to me as I know so many female runners. Fingers crossed I might get back to being one myself some time.

Anatomy, biomechanics and hormonal cycles can put us women runners more at risk of certain injuries. We find out how we can prevent them.
