We planted pumpkins in the greenhouse, made potions by the campfire and danced on the grass with new friends ☺️

🌸Dandy and Pansy are resident dancing flowers 🌼 Pansy loves the rain, sunshine and jumping in muddy puddles. Dandy doesn’t like the rain, she much prefers to hide in the flower beds.

🌧 The gardeners are patiently waiting for the rain to fall... it has been weeks since they’ve seen their pals Dandy and Pansy. Will the flowers come back to dance in the rain?

🌟 Explore the Garden grounds with the team of friendly gardeners, ready to give you the guided tour. Step inside the greenhouse to create soundscapes or play garden games by the koi pond – the garden is full of life and activity! 🌟

✨ Meet the resident dancing flowers!
✨ Explore accessible technology, touch sensory props, smells and stories
✨ Opportunities for play and storytelling

We're looking for emerging artists and practitioners who would like to build their experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. In this programme you will receive mentoring and training, as well as practical support to develop your own micro-project!

The Toolbox Drama team has had the most wonderful summer delivering workshops, sensory socials and our very first live arts festival, Ignite! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did 😊

As a tiny team of freelance artists and practitioners, we rely on small pots of funding to help pay for our activities. This summer, we set up our first Givey page which is a free platform for lovely Toolbox Drama friends to make donations. If you are in a position to make a contribution, we would be incredibly grateful. Any amount (big or small!) helps us to provide free or low cost performing arts activity for people with learning disabilities.

Our Voluntary Practitioner's In Development Programme has re-opened!

We're now in our third (and final!) round of our volunteering programme, which supports emerging artists and practitioners in developing their facilitation and artistic skills.

Previous volunteers have facilitated their own classes, co-created a sensory space, performed in our arts festival and even taken on paid work opportunities with us.

This 10 week programme supports emerging practitioners in developing their skills through practical delivery, training and one-to-one mentoring. Funding is available to support access needs and travel.

Did you know our Selby provision is growing?

From the 17th of September, we will be launching a brand new Sensory Music class from Selby Town Hall! 🪇

The class takes place on Wednesday afternoons (term time only) from 1pm - 2.15pm. This session is ideal for those who enjoy connecting with others through sound – no musical experience necessary and you'll end the class with a free cuppa. What's not to love?

We deliver after school drama clubs for primary schools in York and the surrounding areas. We also run weekly sessions in drama and music for adults with additional needs. Our outreach work includes holiday clubs, community workshops and events.
