Solution Focused Hypnotherapy differs from many other forms of traditional therapy in that that it works at both the conscious and subconscious levels -because if your problems were simply at the conscious level, you may well have talked and worked through them by now having come up with solutions to change them.

So, hypnotherapy sessions incorporate a period of hypnosis, encouraged by guided relaxation, hypnosis does not make you do anything you do not want to do and many of my clients are surprised at how normal they feel during the trance state, relaxed and comfortable.

How Do You Know If You Have Social Anxiety? It can happen for all sorts of reasons, for some people it means they don't like feeling 'the centre of attention', and affects their relationships with colleagues and peers at work, their participation and ultimately their career growth.

Even if they spend all day working with the team, that social aspect out of the office is different enough to trigger anxiety and make them avoid it. For others it means they try to shrink into the background at social events like networking events, and try their best not to make an impact. Some people have even reported that it impacts their ability to start and maintain new romantic relationships, as the prospect of talking to others and meeting in different settings is too daunting.

I understand what it's like to feel the ongoing cycle of constant worry and negative thinking, it leaves you feeling overwhelmed, tense and unable to sleep.

It takes away your confidence leaving you frustrated and exhausted that you can't do the things you want to do as you worry about the future. It's miserable.

When we’re kind to someone or they’re kind to you, our brain chemistry actually changes. Even thinking about, watching, or practicing kindness stimulates the vagus nerve, which is linked to the production of oxytocin in our brain. Oxytocin (also known as the cuddle hormone), helps us feel calm, happier and more positive.

It’s not surprising then that practicing kindness on a regular basis, can be great antidote to stress as it also triggers the production of dopamine, the hormone responsible for positive emotions. Neuroscientists often describe the brain being like a muscle, so when we practice kindness, gratitude and compassion regularly, we can make these regions of the brain stronger, a phenomenon known as neuroplasticity. It means we can more easily focus on the positive things in life and maintain a healthy cycle of positive thinking.
