I’ll be adding more dates soon but do now every other Wednesday night and every other Saturday the studio doors are open for you to come in and spend some time surrounding yourself with beautiful scents

I borrowed this album of my brother 40 years ago. Today I’m playing it on my newly painted window ledge that my big brother painted for me. Keeping things going over the last months and weeks has been a family affair and wouldn’t have been possible without my brother and dad stepping in and being there . I hate to ask for help. If I went for an interview and they asked me what was my biggest weakness it would be asking for help , but I’m learning I can not do it all and I’ve got some wonderful people cheering me on. Now to hide the album before the family turn up tomorrow night do my opening 🫣

The only radio station I can tune into on my broken DAB radio is classic fm . It makes me feel all serene pouring this new scent in my new empty space whilst inside I’m seriously flipping out wondering if anyone will shop with me ever again.
My days right now are filled with planning workshops, creating new product , painting walls and scrolling job adverts . It’s not a good combo but for a small moment in time whilst I’m pouring candles and on my own space I can forget that in just a weeks time I’m cutting off my main source of income . 😳

Here we go , nervously I’m putting my own workshops out into the ethos. Every other Wednesday evening I’ll be opening up the studio for you to come to Blend & Unwind — a slower kind of evening where you can come and make, blend scent, chat about your week if you want to, drink tea, and step out of the usual rush for a couple of hours.

Alongside those will be Slow Saturday Studio sessions — longer, slower mornings spent candle making in the studio, taking time over things and creating something personal to take home.

I’ll also be opening the space up for small private gatherings and celebrations.

The whole idea behind these sessions is really simple. I wanted to create the kind of space I think a lot of us are craving a little more of lately — somewhere calm, creative, welcoming and unhurried.

The first dates are now live online and I honestly can’t wait to welcome some of you into the new space.

Alex 🤍

There’s something new quietly taking shape… and I’d love you to be part of its beginning.

You’re warmly invited to the opening evening at
21 Kirkgate, Tadcaster

A gentle gathering to mark a new chapter for Born of Botanics — an evening to step inside the space, have a wander, a chat, a glass in hand, and simply be.

Wednesday 29th evening
6.30pm – 9pm

It’s an open invite, so please do come along — whether you’ve followed from York or are just discovering me locally.
If you can, drop me a message to let me know you’re coming, just so I have a feel for numbers.

No big fanfare, just a calm, welcoming space, a few familiar scents, and the start of something new.

I’d really love to see you there
Alex ✨

There are just two spaces left for next Wednesday with 🌿

I always hesitate to call it a “workshop”, because it suggests it’s about the end result… the thing you make, the skill you learn.

But these days feel softer than that.

It’s a pause in the middle of the week.
A reason to step away from the usual pace.
To sit down, slow your hands, and let your mind catch up.

There’s something quietly comforting about being around other women, all creating in their own way — some chatting, some focused, some just enjoying the moment.

No pressure.
No expectations.
Nothing to prove.

You’ll be looked after, fed, guided gently through the day… and yes, you’ll leave with something beautiful — but that almost feels like a bonus.

It’s more about how the day feels while you’re in it.

If that sounds like something you need right now, there are just two places left 🤍

Held in Tadcaster ,
Free Parking
Lunch at local independent cafe
Included , a copy of Sophie’s book , a take home kit, your creation, a must blended by yourself to scent your flower with , teas, coffee and lunch

The Little Yorkshire Candle Company

OUR STORY

The creator of The Little Yorkshire Candle Company, Alex Hall grew up in the Yorkshire town of Leeds. After a short period of living in the south she returned to Yorkshire where her love of the countryside, nature and natural things thrived. Trained at Harrods in distributive trades and working with fine goods gave Alex the high level of detail she now looks for in all of her products.

Many candles now include essential oils but are heavily partnered with synthetic fragrances to give them the punch of smell so commonly found. Disappointed by the increase of synthetic fragrances becoming available she set out to develop a purer scent with the vision to keeping everything natural.

After struggling to find candles that weren’t too pungent where you could remain in the same room as a lit scented candle without being overwhelmed by the ingredients set Alex on the path to creating a new range of 100% natural Yorkshire candles.
