Today we have enjoyed a fantastic family picnic and fun sports day / afternoon 🎾🏆🥇🥈🥉

A huge thank you to all staff, residents and relatives who joined us, supported us and made the afternoon such a success. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say what a brilliant afternoon we had!

The food was beautiful, sports game very entertaining and was it was lovely to witness residents so involved in the games and very competitive! This must now be an annual event for sure!!

Who loves Pizza?
If you love Pizza but find the bread a bit too much like hard work, try our hack!
This morning we made Wholemeal Flatbread Pizza, we got 8 pizzas from 4 flatbreads!
Our ladies really packed on those toppings, ham, cheese, onions, tomatoes and just a sprinkle of Italian herbs.
Our mouths were watering just smelling everything, we could wait for this afternoon's tea trolley to try them!

This Evening we hosted our 1st Quarterly Staff Care Values Awards ⭐ 🏆 ⭐

Thank you to all staff, residents and Relatives who have recognised the outstanding work our staff have shown and for nominating these staff we really do appreciate this feedback and love that we can then give them they recognition that they deserve!! 👏 🥰

It was also lovely to also have some residents join in the celebration and be a part of this. 🥳

Mia N & Katie both recieved awards, however were unable to make the evening and so Cadi & Beth proudly took receipt of their gifts for them for when they return.

⭐ Staff awarded ⭐

Carer Mia N - For supporting all departments in the home and always helping and guiding new staff, making sure they feel welcome in the home! 👏

Senior Katie - Katie has recently stepped up to senior and her dedication and commitment to her new role has been above expectations, Katie has supported residents and families with complex health changes and the feedback has been how supportive and professional she has dealt with these situations 👏

Domestic Megan - Megan not only works to high standards within her role but she also ensures that both residents and staff wellbeing are at the forefront of her day, often handing out lots of sweet treats and compliments during her days and ensuring residents are able to attend activities also supporting events on her days off 👏

Night Senior Lucy - Lucy is a strong and confident lead to her colleagues and they all feel that she supports them immensely during shifts and will always help and support them when this is needed, always with a smile on her face 👏

Home Manager Sharon - The changes Sharon has implemented within the home has further improved residents daily living and the care and support they need. Sharon is very flexible and will always support her team and does not just work a 9-5 she will be there when her team and residents need her and this has given families reassurance that the home has a strong, responsive and effective leader.

Thank you to all the staff you are all outstanding and we are proud to have the team we do at Haxby Hall.

Every birthday at Haxby Hall is special, however today's birthday was a little bit more special.

The earth has enjoyed Olive's presence for the grand total of 101 years!

She was showered with flowers, balloons, cards and lots of love!

This afternoon she had a surprise party with fellow residents, her daughter Susan and granddaughter via Facetime! We sang and danced and had a lovely time, Olive was so touched by everyone's good wishes and thanked everybody profusely!!
We hope we did you proud Olive and you are an inspiration to us all!!

What a tennistastic afternoon Cadi and her crew put on this afternoon! After some very minor teething problems involving a big screen and a bright garden, then a big screen and a small room, everyone gathered in our lounges both upstairs and ground floor for the excitement of Wimbledon Finals Day!

Cadi served up a fabulous treat trolley with very large glasses of Pimm's, as you can see from the photos, and of course, there had to be the quintessential strawberries and cream!

Thanks Cadi and her fab team! A splendid afternoon had by all! 🎾🍓📺

🎢🎡🎠🎪🌝🌞☀️

Well, Haxby did everyone proud today with their fabulous Carnival!
The sun shone, there was music, food, fairground rides, craft stalls, petting zoos, dancing, singing, games, competitions and a beer tent! It was packed with the Community making the most of a great afternoon!

Our Margaret loved watching the parade but especially the Pipe Band which brought memories of home she clapped and cheered along with everyone lining the streets! Our residents had a birds eye view of the parade watching from our top floor bar terrace!
A great day was had by all!

Happy Birthday William!

We had such a lovely day out today. It was our turn for the minibus, so we loaded ourselves up and went off to The Wolds.

We went through beautiful villages, which Janet exclaimed were all gorgeous, we had a short stop in Coxwold to see the Swans and the medieval church, and then we set off to Helmsley.

Byland Abbey was resplendent in the sunshine and we vowed to visit on another trip.

Helmsley was bustling with shoppers, bikers and tourists and buzzing with the biggest amount of wasps, who, sadly, were after our Thomas the Baker goodies!

After lunch in the square we had a trundle around the marketplace and set off back. Very hot and snoozy, thank you to Mark for driving us, and huge thanks to John, who gave up his day off so we could take a couple more residents!

We had a cocktail afternoon yesterday! We had just about anything anyone could possibly imagine.

Most of our group plumped for fruity flavours, so we had Pina Coladas, a Sunrise cocktail - very popular, and Susan opted for a Mojito, which was the only cocktail Jen could remember how to make!

Patsy had a gin based cocktail with a fruity mixer and shimmer powder, very elegant indeed!

There was plenty to choose from for those who didn't want anything with alcohol, Jayne managed two glasses of fruity punch and Kathleen invented a new cocktail, which the group decided to call a Haxby Slammer! Pineapple juice, tropical juice, Grenadine and Raspberry syrup!

A good time was had by all, and there was absolutely no dancing on the tables!
