We are looking forward to seeing you all 👍

Today some of our Residents enjoyed a lovely trip and walk round Burnby Hall Gardens ☀️ 🌷 🐠!

Sun hats, sun cream and plenty of water was much needed and it looks like all had a great time!

We are so fortunate to have our mini bus twice in September and so if you have any suggestions on where we should visit next please do let us know, we will also be completing a trip rosta to ensure all our residents are able to go on these trips.

Following on from the video post regarding our wonderful inspiring Val leaving Haxby Hall it is only right to also thank the amazing team who were so proud of Val and her achievements that they organised a beautiful farewell ensuring all staff were present in wishing her well and seeing her leave (walking) Haxby hall 🥰🩷🙌🏻

Some months ago we welcomed the Lovely Val into our Haxby family.

Val came to us after months in hospital and was unable to walk and dependant on staff and her wheelchair to get around. We asked her at the time what her goal was and she said to be able to walk a few steps…..

Fast forward to Monday and after months of determination and support from amazing staff and physio’s Val walked out of Haxby Hall to rejoin her husband at home and return to independent Living!

Val, we could not be any more prouder and you are a true inspiration, we have loved having you live with us and you will be missed dearly.

Care is not just about helping with everyday needs, it’a about knowing and understanding your residents too and responding when something doesn’t seem right.

On Thursday our lovely carer Mia was taking Alan his breakfast and noticed he didn’t seem himself so she stopped, chatted and listened. Alan was wanting a beard and hair trim but worried about going out for this…. Instantly Mia jumped into action and discussed with senior Katie and not even an hour later Alan was in the salon having a full pamper.

Alan absolutely loved this and his words “These two are diamonds, I feel a million dollars” 🥰🥰🥰

We musn't be late for any important date!

Our Private Dining Room here at Haxby Hall is soon to be set and ready for a wonderful Themed "Alice in wonderland Afteroon Tea"🧁🍰☕️🐰

And it could be yours to win for a party of 8 on a day of your choice!!

Raffle tickets will be available from Monday 28th July behind reception £2 a ticket, all monies raised go fully into our residents fund for their activities and trips 🤩

Raffle will be drawn at our summer Fayre on the 16th August

🎪 Summer Fayre Announcement 🎪

We are now in full swing with the organisation for our Summer Fayre Saturday 16th August and look forward to seeing you all there!

We are also looking for Raffle Prize donations if you or you know any local businesses who would be so kind to donate 🙏 ……

Also items that can go on our tomobolas such as:

Unused toiletries 🧼
Sweets 🍭 🍬
Bottles of wine 🍷
Those wonderful Christmas gifts you get that you will never use 🫣🤣

Any kind donations would be greatly recieved!

For the raffle we already have some great prizes and tickets will start to go on sale next Thursday 31st July where some of the Prizes will also be on display in reception!

Today we have enjoyed a fantastic family picnic and fun sports day / afternoon 🎾🏆🥇🥈🥉

A huge thank you to all staff, residents and relatives who joined us, supported us and made the afternoon such a success. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say what a brilliant afternoon we had!

The food was beautiful, sports games very entertaining and was it was lovely to witness residents so involved in the games and very competitive!

This must now be an annual event for sure!!

Who loves Pizza?
If you love Pizza but find the bread a bit too much like hard work, try our hack!
This morning we made Wholemeal Flatbread Pizza, we got 8 pizzas from 4 flatbreads!
Our ladies really packed on those toppings, ham, cheese, onions, tomatoes and just a sprinkle of Italian herbs.
Our mouths were watering just smelling everything, we could wait for this afternoon's tea trolley to try them!
