🐸 𝙒𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮...

It was a truly special visit at Haxby Hall. Dr. Laurence gave an absolutely fascinating, in-depth talk that covered everything about these incredible creatures.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩?
Our Residents got up close and personal with some of the amazing animals, including the captivating Poison Dart Frog, some wonderful Salamanders, and the ever-charming Axolotl. It was wonderful to see their faces light up, and some were even brave enough to hold them!

A massive thank you to Global Amphibians and Dr. Laurence Jarvis for sharing his knowledge and bringing the wild to us!

What a wonderful day we had today taking some of our Residents to Gilberdyke Garden Centre! 🚌✨

Our minibus was buzzing with excitement as we headed off to see all the magnificent Christmas displays. The lights, the decorations, and the festive atmosphere truly brought smiles to everyone's faces!

We finished off the trip with a well-deserved treat with coffee and cake in the cafe. 🍰☕ It was the perfect way to spend a chilly November day and get into the Christmas spirit!

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Care Home Manager! 🌟

Our residents and staff know that life at Haxby Hall is always better and brighter thanks to our incredible manager, Sharon Conarty.

But don't just take our word for it—her commitment to bringing happiness often involves an impromptu dance party! Watch her in action, reminding us all that age is just a number and that a little bit of dancing makes everything better.

We are so lucky to have a manager who is not only a fantastic professional but also loads of fun for everyone! Thank you Sharon for your energy, your spirit, and your dedication to joy! 🥰

We 𝙒𝙊𝙉'𝙏 be setting off any of our own Fireworks tomorrow evening.

We 𝘿𝙊 have plenty of sparklers for use on the balcony, and hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy Haxby Village displays from our Rooftop Bar

💜💚𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙊𝙆𝙏𝘼𝘾𝙐𝙇𝘼𝙍! 💚💜𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙢𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆…

The energy was incredible!!We were packed out with Vampires, Ghosts, witches and Devils!

The Children and Residents were entertained with the brilliant dance class led by 𝙍𝙝𝙞𝙖𝙣 from 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀!

The The Wilf Ward Family Trust joined us with some of their Tennants, who had a great time partying with everyone 👻

A huge thank you to everyone in the community who came out - it was wonderful to see so many children in their amazing costumes! 🧛🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️😈

Our chef outdid himself with a fantastic buffet, and we had special spooky Cocktails served on our scary Bar. 🍸

Every child went home with a treat bag and a smile, and one little Girl won ‘Most Creative’ in our Costume Contest Vote 🤡

Congratulations again to all 5 winners of our costume contest, very well deserved! 🏆

Last but not least…to our incredible staff, who got into the spirit, showing off some fantastic costumes! It was wonderful to see everyone participate and make the night so memorable.

𝔸 𝔽𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕒𝕝 𝕠𝕗 𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕔𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕓𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟...

Today, Haxby Hall was a vibrant hub of celebration as we marked Diwali, the Festival of Lights! The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and a beautiful mix of new and old traditions made it a day to remember.

Creativity was in full swing with two fantastic activities. Residents had a blast getting beautifully decorated with temporary henna-style tattoos, although we weren’t all as bold as Barrie, who decided to have his on his head! 😁

We made some brightly coloured lamps, made our own Mandala coasters and sampled some tasty treats.

In the afternoon, things took a calming, yet active, turn with a gentle yoga lesson. Cindy Magyar led a session tailored perfectly for all abilities, focusing on simple stretches, mindful breathing, and relaxation. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to unwind, stretch out, and find a little inner peace amidst the day's excitement.

By the end of the day, everyone was feeling full, relaxed, and wonderfully festive. It was a brilliant celebration that truly illuminated the spirit of community, culture, and joy!

𝗔𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮…

Today we celebrated Oktoberfest. We tested our knowledge on German Culture, feasted on delicious Pretzels, cured meats, cheeses & pickles.

No Oktoberfest is complete without a cheeky tipple & in addition to Beer, our Chef made a delicious mulled Cider to enjoy.

It was a perfect, fun-filled day that proved you don't need to travel to Germany to experience the true Gemütlichkeit (coziness and good cheer) of Oktoberfest!

Yesterday we held our Community Coffee Morning, which had a warm & cosy Autumnal theme.

Gingerbread Lattes, Hot chocolate with Cream, and an array of freshly baked treats to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who came along, we’re already looking forward to the next one!
