Recent reports are highlighting how climate change is affecting not only the planet but our mental health too.

Rising temperatures, environmental uncertainty and constant exposure to difficult news can contribute to anxiety, grief and a sense of helplessness about the future. These emotional responses are increasingly recognised as real and understandable human reactions.

Feeling worried about the world you live in is not irrational. It is often a sign of awareness, care and connection.

Supporting mental health in the context of climate change does not mean ignoring reality. It means finding ways to stay grounded within it.

Spending time in nature, connecting with others and taking small meaningful actions can help transform overwhelm into calm.

Caring for the planet also includes caring for the people living on it, including yourself.

We often watch Stranger Things for the monsters and the 80s nostalgia but beneath the surface, it’s one of the most powerful depictions of trauma on screen.

From Eleven’s search for identity to Max’s battle with the "inner critic" (aka Vecna), the show mirrors the very real ways we navigate pain, isolation and recovery.

In my latest blog, I’m breaking down the psychology of this hit show and what it teaches us about our own path to healing:

Mental health is health.
Not an extra
Not a luxury and
Not something that only matters when things reach crisis point.

On World Health Day, it’s worth remembering that emotional wellbeing is deeply connected to physical health. Chronic stress affects sleep, concentration, immunity and how safe we feel in our own bodies. Caring for your mental health is part of caring for your overall health.

Therapy isn’t about being “broken.” It’s about understanding yourself, building emotional resilience and learning ways to support your nervous system through life’s challenges.

You are allowed to take your mental health seriously even if everything looks fine from the outside.
Save this as a reminder that support, rest and emotional care are valid forms of healthcare.

Many people who come to therapy aren’t falling apart.

They’re working, showing up for others, meeting expectations and quietly carrying more than anyone realises.

High-functioning struggles often sound like self-criticism, minimising or exhaustion rather than crisis. When you’ve learned to cope by being capable, it can be hard to recognise when support is actually needed.

You don’t need a dramatic reason to seek therapy. Feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or constantly tired is enough. Your experiences don’t have to be compared or justified to matter.

Sometimes healing begins when you stop asking “Why can’t I handle this?” and start asking “What do I need right now?”

If one of these slides felt familiar, save this post for the moments you start minimising your own feelings.

For this months, quick reset exercise, we will look at happiness and how it is not a constant euphoria but actually requires deliberate attentio.

This International Day of Happiness and start of Spring, come and feel radiant with this quick exercise.

- Name 3 small things that are going well today. They must be specific and small.
- Now say why they happened. For each thing, answer quickly.
- Pause for 10 seconds and actually feel specifically only one of them.

Your brain is wired to scan for problems.
When you deliberately look for what is working, you retrain it.
Small shifts. Real impact.

Try this each day for a week and see how your happiness index can increase.

International Women’s Day is a celebration of strength, resilience and the quiet courage women carry every single day.

As a therapist, I have the privilege of sitting with women who are navigating anxiety, burnout, motherhood, leadership, grief, ambition and everything in between.

Women who are healing generational patterns.
Women who are finding their voice.
Women who are choosing themselves for the first time.

This day is not just about empowerment quotes. It is about recognising the emotional labour, the invisible load and the powerful transformation that happens when women are supported properly.

To every woman doing the inner work, breaking cycles and building something better, you are powerful beyond measure.

If you are ready to prioritise your mental health and step into your next chapter with strength and self-trust, I am here to support you.

This UK World Book Day, I’m sharing my current read which is ADHD & Us by Anita Robertson.

It’s a powerful read focused on ADHD in relationships and it’s helping me deepen my understanding of how neurodiversity shapes communication, intimacy and conflict in couples.

As a therapist who regularly works with partners navigating ADHD within their relationship, I see how these patterns can be misunderstood, the emotional load can feel uneven and both people often end up feeling unseen.

Books like this strengthen my clinical insight so I can better support couples who are trying to move from frustration to connection.

This day is a reminder that growth is intentional. The more I learn, the better I can help you build healthier communication, emotional safety and mutual understanding.

If you and your partner are navigating ADHD and it’s impacting your relationship, therapy can help you untangle the patterns and reconnect with clarity and compassion.

This Valentine's month, give any meaningful relationship a gentle reset 💕

In just 5 minutes, you and your partner can reconnect, calm the nervous system, and spark more warmth, even on busy or "off" days.

Try this quick 5-Minute Relationship Reset:

🌟 Pause & Breathe Together (1-2 min)
Sit close, hold hands if it feels right. Take 3-5 slow synced breaths: In for 4, hold for 4, out for 6. Feel the shared calm.

🌟 Share One Appreciation (1-2 min)
Take turns naming one specific thing you’re grateful for about each other today (e.g. “Thank you for the hug when I walked in, it meant everything”). Just receive with a smile or “Thank you.”

🌟 Quick Intent or Connection Touch (1-2 min)
Share a small intention (“I’d love a cuddle tonight”) and end with a hug, hand-hold or 20-second eye gaze with a smile.

Small rituals like this build big closeness over time. Perfect as a daily habit or when things feel a little distant.

How will you reset with your person this week? This can be done with a partner, family member or friend.

It is never just about “relationship issues.”

It is about understanding your part without carrying all the blame.
It is about feeling heard, remembered and truly seen.
It is about rebuilding confidence when work, life or love knock you sideways.

When someone in their 60s says they feel optimistic about the future again, that matters.

Real therapy is not quick fixes.
It is careful listening, clarity and steady support through difficult seasons.
If you are struggling in your relationship or feeling overwhelmed by life or work, you do not have to figure it out alone.

Ozempic and other weight loss drugs are everywhere right now. The hype is loud. The promises are shiny. The conversations about what this actually does to our relationship with food, body image and self worth are much quieter.

In my latest blog, I look beyond the headlines and before and after photos. We talk about what weight loss drugs do not address, why quick fixes can feel so tempting when living in a body feels hard and how therapy fits into all of this.

Because weight is never just about willpower. It is usually linked with emotions, history, coping and shame all tangled together.
