The first of our series of Christmas lunches held at York Golf Club in Strensall.
We had a lovely traditional turkey lunch followed by Christmas pud or cheesecake.
Thanks to the golf club for providing such a good meal and for looking after us so well.
The remaining residents are very much looking forward to their trip next week!

Ivy lodge is a family owned and run residential care home located in the heart of Haxby. We are seeking an experienced care assistant to join our nights team to care for our 33 residents. You will work in a team of 3 for either of 28 or 36 hours per week over a 3 week rota.

We’ve celebrated Joan and Margaret’s birthday recently, we had a very creative flower arranging session and a very tasty Chinese takeaway served in part by our new kitchen assistant 🙄😁

We had a wonderful afternoon yesterday celebrating Margaret’s milestone 90th birthday. Keith and the Ivy Lodge dancers ensured the afternoon was full music, comedy and dancing followed by a slap up tea! Many happy returns to Margaret🥳

It’s been a few weeks since our last post but that’s not due to a lack of material. We’ve had 3 more birthdays to celebrate with parties and amazing cakes of course, activities out in the garden to make the most of the lovely weather as well as knitting, shopping trips and all the usual activities Maria organises to ensure every day is full of fun.

We had an amazing summer fair on Saturday and managed to raise £900 which will be split equally between the residents’ fund and Dementia Forward, a very worthy local dementia charity.
Thanks so much to all of you who donated prizes and to those of you who were so generous on the day.

Ivy Lodge is holding its summer fair on Saturday 2nd August between 10 am and noon. We will be serving refreshments (tea, coffee, scones and sponge cake) and we will be selling home made cakes (with a new addition of amazing pistachio cupcakes!)running a raffle, tombola, bottle stall, jewellery stall and for the first time we will have a nail bar (gel nails or a polish). Please come along and support us if you can and if you have anything that might go in a raffle or tombola or bottle stall, we would be very grateful !!

We’ve celebrated Mary’s and Hazel’s birthday with more amazing cakes and a party where Keith came to entertain everyone for the afternoon. We also had a very well supported flower arranging morning and we finished the week with a fabulous trip out to Burnby Hall to see the water Lillie’s and the lovely gardens.
