The power of adaptogens, nutrition…and a lot of hill training! Completed The Dales Struggle. A beautiful but brutal 175k ride with 11 247 feet of hill climbing, taking in 7 iconic hill climbs. A good dose of adaptogens on the morning of the ride and a smoothie of oats, nuts, Maca powder, cacao and milk certainly helped fuel the ride! Adaptogens help the body deal with physical stress and can aid athletic performance. A great but challenging ride!

Wonderful trip cycling through the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert, enjoying the valley of the roses, the M’Goun valley, although it was too early in the season to enjoy the festival celebrating the Damascus rose. The oil produced has great benefits for the skin and supports emotional stability. Rose is often used energetically as a heart medicine. The smell of the orange blossoms, even in the bustling streets of Marrakech, was a delight!

More of the beautiful and colourful herbal teas found in Istanbul markets. Already blended teas for high blood pressure, diabetes and detoxification, to name but a few! The teas of Jasmine, rose and Hibiscus were my favourite but seeing such beautiful colours and blends was a delight!

Loving the vibe and architecture of Istanbul and delightful to see the range herbal teas and spices. Beautiful vibrant colours in teas already blended for a range of conditions. The pleasures of exchanging herbal knowledge across cultures and countries! 🇹🇷

A work in progress…picked up my paints again after quite a long break. Every time I paint, the outcome is very different and I never know what to expect! Looking forward to the warm weather so I can paint outside in the sun!

Finally, four years after taking up road cycling, I have cycled The Way of the Roses. Agreeing to cycle this route was the reason I took up cycling, but due to covid restrictions the trip never happened. Happy to have completed the route yesterday. The first day was a challenging 180k and 8048 feet of climbing, but the cycle from Morecambe to York meant I could recharge at home and dose up with some adaptogen herbs (panax, rhodiola, glycyrrhiza) and give my legs a good massage with my aching muscles oil blend. Felt good the next day to complete the journey with a gentle 100k to Bridlington. A beautiful route!

Wonderful to see these two new pieces displayed in York District Hospital. They replace the other two paintings which were displayed briefly then sold, with the profits donated to Doctors Without Borders. Any original paintings sold in September and October, I will donate the profits to this charity with particular reference to the work they are doing in Gaza. Very happy to be displaying some of work at York Hospital and have sold these pieces after only a couple of days. All proceeds from original canvas sales in August and September I will donate to Doctors Without Borders, so now is a great opportunity to buy some art! I will be posting images of the work I have available, so please share and support a great cause. Feedback has been wonderful, a visitor commenting, "They're absolutely beautiful, lovely, really brighten the place up", and a member of staff stating, "I can't tell you how much this means to me".

I'm very happy to be displaying some of my art work at York Hospital, having just finished an exhibition at Scarborough Hospital. These two pieces have already sold after only three days, but I'm especially proud and happy for them to find a new home as through August and September, any profits from sales of original canvases, I will be donating to Doctors Without Borders. If you like my work, now is a good time to invest in a piece and support an important cause. Feedback from staff and visitors has been wonderful. One member of staff commented, "I can't tell you how much this means to me", whilst a visitor commented "They're absolutely beautiful, really brighten up the place".
