📣 FREE Education Event for Grassroots Coaches & the Sporting Community

We’re excited to announce an upcoming event hosted by Clifton Park Hospital in partnership with – a charity initiative created by medical professionals to improve young player welfare in grassroots sport.

This FREE session will include:
✅ Interactive demonstrations of the PEP (Prevent injury, Enhance Performance) warm-up programme
✅ Expert talks on ACL injury prevention, biomechanics & rehabilitation
✅ Practical guidance for safely implementing structured warm-ups
✅ Networking opportunities with coaches, physios & fellow professionals

👥 Guest Speakers:

Kevin Abel – Clinical Director, Athletica Health Physiotherapy

💡 The PEP Programme is a simple, evidence-based 15-minute warm-up proven to reduce ACL injury risk by up to 74–88% in young athletes. Adaptable across a wide range of sports, it’s a game-changer for player safety and performance.

Yesterday evening, members of the Clifton Park Hospital team swapped scrubs for wetsuits and got out on the water to try paddleboarding!

Fresh from the adrenaline of July’s York Rotary, UK Dragon Boat Race, we were keen to keep trying new things – and this was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy nature, learn a new skill, and spend time together outside of work. It was an amazing guided session with Emma from Yorkie Talkies Outdoors.

Our Story

Clifton Park Hospital opened in 2006 and is located just outside York. The modern purpose built hospital has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has first-class medical facilities including 24 beds, two theatres, a day case unit, a large outpatient department with X-ray facilities and on-site physiotherapy, including a small gym area. In 2018, the hospital opened a new outpatient department with 11 consulting rooms, two treatment rooms and x-ray facilities.

As well as excellent transport links, the hospital is 10 minutes’ drive from the city centre and has ample free parking directly outside the hospital.

Clifton Park is a Centre of Excellence for Orthopaedics and specialises in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery and care from consultation right through to your aftercare. As well as orthopaedics, Clifton Park also specialises in breast, face, body and male cosmetic surgery.
