“I recently underwent hip surgery at Clifton Park Hospital in York and I honestly cannot praise the experience highly enough. From the moment I arrived, everything was handled with professionalism and genuine care. Reception were welcoming and efficient, and my room was ready straight away, which immediately put me at ease.

Every stage of the process was explained clearly, helping me feel informed and reassured throughout. The induction was calm and professional, and the anaesthetist was absolutely fantastic, kind, reassuring, and incredibly skilled.
Mr Chris Lodge, my consultant surgeon, was simply outstanding. He took time to explain everything before and after the operation, and I felt completely confident in his care. I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of him.

Post-op pain management was excellent, the nursing staff were attentive and compassionate, and my discharge was smooth and well organised.
Overall, every aspect of my care was brilliant. I’m extremely grateful to Mr Lodge and the entire team at Clifton Park Hospital for such a positive experience.”

This week, we were proud to celebrate an incredible milestone for two of our long‑standing team members, Sandy, Decontamination Technician and Lisa, Ward Manager - who have each reached an amazing 20 years of service.

Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to patient care have played a huge part in shaping the hospital we are today.

This celebration is especially meaningful as Clifton Park Hospital also approaches its own 20‑year anniversary, a wonderful moment to reflect on the people who have been with us since the beginning!

Hospital Director, Lesley Lock and Head of Clinical Services, Richard Dalton - joined in congratulating Sandy and Lisa, thanking them for two decades of outstanding contribution.

🌾 Supporting Our Farming Patients 🌾

We’re really pleased to see Clifton Park Hospital featured in NextGen Agricultural Magazine, shining a light on the care we provide for patients from our local farming community, alongside the work of Mr Chris Lodge, Consultant Knee Surgeon.

Living and working in North Yorkshire, a rural county with around 7,000 commercial farms, means we care for many patients whose livelihoods depend on staying active. We see first‑hand the physical demands farming places on the body and understand how difficult it can be to put your own health first.

For many farmers, there’s a real concern about time away from the land, the impact on day‑to‑day work, and who will keep things running. That’s why our focus is on providing timely, supportive care that helps patients get back on their feet and back to what matters most to them, as safely and quickly as possible.
