I have a couple of spaces available at the moment on a Thursday (it’s suddenly not a very popular day).

Classes 9am, 10.15 and 11.30am.

The earlier two are better for those who are already fairly fit and no major injuries. The later one would suit someone with mobility issues or more complicated issues or just wanting a much gentler pace.

I operate with very small groups (max five in a class) on a monthly payment system of £50pm for one class per week, if you are absent or I’m on holiday recorded classes are provided for your own practice. These are also available should you wish just to do as an extra class during the week if you ask.

We’ve been focusing on balance in classes lately, not just the basics (like trying to stand on one leg) but all the key elements that help with balance; foot and ankle strength, hip strength, upper body posture and proprioception. This little game of catch against the wall, on one leg, is a great way to get some added foot, leg and hip strength and proprioception work too.

Please ONLY attempt this if you are already comfortable balancing on one leg. But if so, give it a go and let me know in class how you get on.

Bonus points for picking up a dropped ball from the floor too 😉

🥳HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

2026 sees TEN years of business for me. I can’t believe I’ve been teaching now for ten whole years. I’ve done some very casual maths and think that at least 25% of you have been coming to me since 2016!!! I just cannot believe that.

It was much later in the year when I qualified and started teaching classes proper but still, it’s a big milestone for me.

The deepest thanks to everyone who supported my business in that time, if you came to classes at some point, if you still do, if you shared posts or recommended me to other people, biggest deepest thanks from me 😘 🙌 🥳

Here’s to another ten years.

I hope everyone has had a Christmas involving things you love. Mine has involved a LOT of Mario Kart 🚗and chocolate.

But I now need to spend a little time thinking about classes.

There are potentially two new classes beginning in January on a Monday, subject to getting a couple of extra people to join us. One is 7.30am and one 12noon.

Really small focused groups, tailored to your own needs with a friendly and down to earth instructor. It’s all about improving how you move and feel in your body, none of the burn or punishing yourself (ok maybe sometimes a little burn the day after 😉). If this sounds like what you’re after for yourself in the new year please get in touch.

Last week across almost all classes we worked on the 12 Planks of Christmas or worked up to making Christmas Stars shapes. Strong shoulders, sides, hips. 💪

Every single class has impressed me, only two classes managed the full 12 Planks session without any modifications, those classes did exceptionally well!

Other groups did varying degrees of the various plank positions and the Christmas Stars as shown in the picture. Modifications are ALWAYS an option, especially with such small class sizes. I know everybody’s injuries, everybody’s limitations and I also know when they can take an extra little nudge toward a challenge too. 😉

One more morning of classes today and then it’s time for my birthday celebrations this week and Winter Solstice at the weekend 🙌 Spring is coming 🤣

Star of the week this week was STAR OF THE YEAR 🌟✨

Maeve here has been coming to Pilates for around 18 months, maybe two years. She struggles a lot with sciatica and associated leg pain. Due to of the cause of the sciatica, exercise can only manage the issue and not completely cure it.

At times this year, her pain has been so bad that she has come to classes on two walking poles, but she still came along anyway and just did what she could manage, sometimes very gentle movement and even just lay and relaxed at times. Slowly over the last couple of months her symptoms have improved and she has been gaining strength again.

This week she managed one leg bridges, some serious one leg standing challenges and she was quite rightly very proud of herself, as was I!

Here are some words Maeve sent to me after class this week

“Thanks for a great year of teaching and it really meant a lot to me that you were so supportive of me when things were bad, but also as I began to improve, as it's given me the confidence to be able to keep active and get back some of my strength that I'd lost!”

Well done Maeve, you’ve been inspiring this year. Onwards and upwards in 2026 🤞

Coming up in January I will have a space in my Thursday 10.15am class. Suitable for someone with experience or with good general fitness and no major injuries.

I am also debating starting a 7.30am Monday class, that already has a few lined up to join, and just two spaces would you like to be one of the two others who join us to start the week?

Ditto for a Monday 11.30am class, a few already on the waiting list but space for two more.

Very small, focused and friendly classes with lots of individual attention where needed.

Star of the Week is a brilliant but simple way to acknowledge people’s progress and effort. Cathy absolutely nailed the dead bug variations on the foam roller today! And she didn’t even have a wobbly side.

I love the reaction sometimes when people are “put on the board” 🌟 They revert to primary age children. It’s brilliant.

She shared this on her Facebook today and it’s made me super happy to know how much it perked her up today.

Unfortunately I had to cancel a class recently, as a couple had to drop out due to personal circumstances. It is a group of older ladies, with some
injuries/mobility problems so it’s a gentler, slower paced class.

I’d love to get it started again but need another couple to get it going again. I’m hoping to start a 6 week block at the start of November on a Thursday at 11.30am. Small group of 5 people maximum, so lots of attention and ability to tailor things as needed.

The ladies that will be coming back to the group have been chasing me to get it up and running again so they’re obviously missing it. Testament to the benefits it brings them, and could bring you too.
