The hardest part of my job will surprise you…

It’s not the nutrition.
It’s not the training.
Or even getting women to be consistent.

It’s convincing them that they are actually capable of results like this.

There’s nothing “special” about any of these women.
Not biologically. Not psychologically.

They just believed it was possible.

Maybe not initially.

I had to show them the path. Show them others who had walked it and convince them they were capable too.

But they eventually believed in themselves enough to make it happen. And that’s the hardest job for me.

Proving to women in their 30’s and 40’s that with the correct direction, they are a fu***ng powerhouse.

They can do pull ups, they can lift like a badass, they can have shoulder definition or see their ab lines. They can do whatever they want to do and be whatever they want to be.

They can be an amazing mum, wife and leader in the office, but that doesn’t define them or prevent them prioritising themselves.

But this also sparks the most frustration on my part too.

There are still women who don’t believe they can. That they can’t achieve what these amazing women did.

And that’s the reason they never do.

It doesn’t start with motivation or dedication.

It starts with letting go of all the barriers you believed were holding you back and backing yourself.

You’re not “special”. You’ve just never believed in yourself.

You’re lying to yourself 🤷🏻‍♂️

Either intentionally or maybe you’ve been mislead?

But either way, slow and steady doesn’t win the race when it comes to fat loss.

But here’s the catch.

This doesn’t mean ANY diet or training will work as long as it’s aggressive.

This simply means those who commit to getting the job done quickly, tend to have more success.

But this doesn’t mean you just need to go harder.

It means you need to go harder, with the right plan.

Going harder with the group classes you’re doing, the diet plan you researched yourself or the training plan you threw together is a recipe for disaster.

Strategic nutrition and training that maximises results paired with your commitment is the real cheat code.

Sacrifice 🤝🏻 Indulgence

Yes, that’s me eating carrot cake in a (small) pool.

And no, it made no difference to my physique whatsoever.

But here’s where the fitness industry seems to have gone mad.

You’re led by the fluffy side of the industry to believe that you should be able to enjoy cake in a pool whenever you like. And in a way, I suppose you can! You’re an adult after all.

But if you want to maintain the physique you’ve worked so hard for, that’s always going to come with a level of sacrifice to balance it out.

See, balance isn’t doing whatever you want, whenever you want.

Balance is offsetting moments like this (eating cake in a pool) with the hard work required to stay in shape.

If you care about sustaining a healthy lifestyle long term, you need to understand that THIS, is balance.

Stop saying yes to everything am calling it balance.

Balance only occurs when you offset one thing, with another. Whether that’s training or nutrition.

Meet Amelia ✨

Amelia has just reached the end of phase 1 (fat loss) of her journey with me.

Amelia came to me with two very clear goals.

“I want to FINALLY get into the shape of my life. Lean, toned, muscular, strong.

But, I want to do it the right way.

I want to understand how to fuel my body, how to grow muscle and how to perform at my very best. Not repeat the cycle of starving myself over and over again.”

So we got to work.

The problem was, Amelia had been training and dieting FOREVER. But wasn’t really any further ahead.

She fell into the trap that most of you do.
Dieting constantly, but no real long term plan.

She was in a deficit, eating some protein and going to the gym. But that’s it.

We needed to establish a long term strategy for Amelia.

A fat loss phase, followed by a structured reverse diet, a build phase and a transformation phase to finish.

Well here we are, the end of phase 1.

She’s 5.5kg down, she’s stronger and muscle is on the up.

Now we reverse and build.

The strategy is clear.
No confusion.
Simple and effective.

This is where most people fail.

They don’t have a plan beyond a calorie deficit and a bit of extra protein.

That’s why they spin their wheels, just like Amelia did for years.

Meet Marissa ✨

This one really hits hard for me.

I haven’t got a f***ing clue how much weight Marissa has lost. Her poor relationship with her weight meant we had to avoid the scales. But it’s more than either of us could ever have imagined at the start of this. Let me explain…

Marissa came to me at the very bottom. She had a horrendous relationship with food and her own body that had seen her swing from starving herself and exercising excessively to burn calories, to jacking it all in and gaining lots of weight. She had written herself off. At just 37, she had given up and was ready to accept she was destined to be unhappy.

When she reached out to me. Her mental health was at its lowest. Her confidence was non-existent and she had zero faith in her ability to turn it around.

Marissa really valued her time with friends on a weekend and didn’t want to completely quit alcohol or takeaways or a few snacks here and there. But her all or nothing mindset just sent her spiralling every time. She was lost with it all.

Then this happened…

Marissa lost 23 inches around her waist and hips combined 🤯

But that tells a small part of the story.

Marissa found a healthy and enjoyable balance. She regained her faith that it was actually possible for her to be in shape and happy!

Her confidence is transformed and she finally believes in herself again. She’s no longer written herself off.

Marissa is able to live the life she wants to live, in the body she wants to live it. She’s gained control and lives life on her terms.

I’m so proud of Marissa. The journey we’ve been on together has allowed me to learn so much about her and call her a friend. It’s not over yet, but we’ve come a very long way.

We put these in-person events on quarterly, exclusively for our clients.
