π Coaching for Wellbeing & How it Differs from Counselling? π
Coaching for wellbeing is a transformative journey where by working in partnership with your coach, you can better understand yourself, harness your strengths, set meaningful goals, and create positive changes in your life. β¨
But how is it different from counselling? Let's break it down:
π¬ Focus
~ Coaching: Future-oriented, with an emphasis on working towards your goals, which can be emotional, mental, career, your relationships, the list goes on.
~ Counselling: Depending on the modality, it can often look at the past and present, helping to understand yourself, build awareness, and heal emotional wounds and mental health issues.
π Approach
~ Coaching: Uses a variety of empowering, often action-based strategies to support you in your personal and professional growth.
~ Counselling: Provides a therapeutic space to explore emotions, trauma, and mental health. You can often go to a much greater depth with this, than you would in coaching.
π― Objective
~ Coaching: Aims to enhance personal and professional growth and overall wellbeing.
~ Counselling: Often can focus on addressing and healing your mental health and emotional pain, although can still be solutions focussed.
Both are incredibly valuable, but they serve different purposes.
