Spinology First Aberdare

Spinology First Aberdare The only female, and one of only a handful of Spinologists to work in the mainland UK. In January 2024 she qualified as a Spinologist.

Lena’s fascination with anatomy began during her massage therapy training. As an experienced massage therapist, she refined her ability to alleviate tension, promote relaxation, and enhance overall well-being. Her hands-on experience allowed her to witness the profound impact of touch on physical and emotional health. Lena’s journey from massage therapist to a leading pioneering woman in Spinology

serves as an inspiration to all who seek holistic health and well-being. Despite numerous setbacks, her dedication to the profession remains formidable. Her Transition to Spinology After having a few regular appointments with Jan Beytell, Lena soon came to realise the immense potential of Spinology and understood the importance of maintaining the communication within the nervous system. This marked the beginning of an exciting chapter - a collaboration of the first Male and the First Female Spinologists in mainland UK working under one name - Spinology First. Beyond the Clinic When Lena isn’t adjusting spines or promoting Spinology, she will likely be watching live music or having a stall at a craft and wellbeing fair, drawing positivity from the energy in the music or the people around her. Lena has a passion to contribute to the profession and has already begun putting things in place to help teach new students in the Cardiff school.

This lady puts her all into everything she does.

If your dogs are reactive - and reactive doesn’t just mean aggressive, it’s can be pulling on leads, barking, shaking to multiple forms of stimulation- please give her a shout.

Thanks 🙏

‼️New service ‼️

Behaviour & Welfare Assessment

Some behaviour changes are rooted in learning and environment. Others may have an underlying medical or pain-related component.

This service is designed to help identify whether training is appropriate at this stage, or whether veterinary investigation should take priority first.

Behaviour concerns such as reactivity, handling sensitivity, aggression, reluctance to walk, sudden behaviour changes, touch aversion, withdrawal, barking, growling, or bite attempts can sometimes be influenced by pain, discomfort, illness, or reduced physical wellbeing.

During the assessment, we will discuss your dog’s behavioural history, daily routine, lifestyle, environment, and any concerns you may have. I will observe your dog’s behaviour and assess for behavioural patterns that may be consistent with pain, discomfort, stress, or reduced welfare.

Following the appointment, you will receive a written summary with recommendations and next steps. Where appropriate, this may include a recommendation for veterinary investigation and direct liaison with your veterinary practice.

Please note:
This is not a training session and does not include a behaviour modification plan or hands-on training exercises. The purpose of this service is to ensure that any future training or behaviour work is approached safely, ethically, and with your dog’s welfare at the centre of the process.

In some cases, once underlying pain or medical concerns are addressed, behaviour concerns may improve significantly without the need for further training support.

Includes:
• Approximately 30 minute in-person assessment
• Behavioural and welfare history review
• Observation of behaviour and body language
• Written summary and recommendations
• Veterinary referral/support letter where appropriate
• Liaison with your veterinary practice if required
