🔵 April 7 marks World Health Day, which is celebrated annually under the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) and aims to promote the importance of health and well-being worldwide.

🔵 On the occasion of World Health Day, a series of theoretical and practical workshops was held at BAU International University Batumi.

As part of the program, a public lecture was delivered by Dr. Natia Kharati and Vice-Rector Giorgi Tskhvediani.

The event continued with practical workshops for senior students, who engaged in hands-on training using animal specimens, including cardiac dissection and cricothyrotomy techniques.

At the same time, junior students participated in sessions focused on developing essential clinical skills, such as first aid, CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), and injection techniques.

The initiative was led by 6th-year medical students, with the support of the University.
Participants were awarded certificates.

The mentioned activities contribute to the development of students’ practical skills and strengthen practice-oriented medical education.

🔵მსოფლიო ჯანმრთელობის დღის ფარგლებში, ბაუ ბათუმის საერთაშორისო უნივერსიტეტში ჩატარდა თეორიული და პრაქტიკული ვორქშოფების სერია.

ღონისძიების ფარგლებში გაიმართა საჯარო ლექცია, რომელსაც უძღვებოდნენ ნევროლოგი ნათია ხარატი და ვიცე-რექტორი გიორგი ცხვედიანი.

ღონისძიება გაგრძელდა პრაქტიკული ვორქშოფებით უფროსკურსელი სტუდენტებისთვის, რომელიც მოიცავდა ცხოველური წარმოშობის ბიოლოგიური მასალის გამოყენებით გულის დისექციასა და კრიკოთირეოტომიის ტექნიკის შესწავლას.

ამავე დროს, უმცროსკურსელი სტუდენტები ჩართულნი იყვნენ საბაზისო კლინიკური უნარების განვითარების სესიებში, როგორიცაა პირველადი დახმარება, CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS) და ინექციის ტექნიკები.

ღონისძიება განხორციელდა მედიცინის პროგრამის მე-6 კურსის სტუდენტების მიერ, უნივერსიტეტის მხარდაჭერით. მონაწილეებს გადაეცათ სერტიფიკატები.

აღნიშნული აქტივობები სტუდენტებში ხელს უწყობს პრაქტიკული უნარების განვითარებას და პრაქტიკაზე ორიენტირებული სამედიცინო განათლების გაძლიერებას.

🔵 On March 24–27, 2026, a study visit and project working meeting were held in Koper, Slovenia, within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project LEADHEGA (Leadership Development in Higher Education in Georgia and Azerbaijan).

The event was attended by the Vice Rectors of BAU International University Batumi, Tea Mikeladze and Giorgi Tskhvediani, as well as the Head of the International Relations and Marketing Department, Elisabed Diasamidze.

The event was hosted by EMUNI University and brought together representatives of partner institutions and organizations from Georgia, Ireland, Malta, Azerbaijan, and Slovenia.

The visit included research seminars and thematic discussions on contemporary leadership challenges in higher education. Leadership development modules were also presented, progress was evaluated, and experiences were exchanged regarding the program’s piloting process.

As part of the program, participants were introduced to the leadership programs of IEDC – Bled School of Management and CEEMAN, as well as their experience in developing professional and leadership skills.

BAU International University Batumi continues to implement joint projects and strengthen its global network.

ღონისძიებაში მონაწილეობდა ბაუ ბათუმის საერთაშორისო უნივერსიტეტის ვიცე-რექტორები - თეა მიქელაძე და გიორგი ცხვედიანი, ასევე საერთაშორისო ურთიერთობებისა და მარკეტინგის სამსახურის ხელმძღვანელი - ელისაბედ დიასამიძე.

ღონისძიებას მასპინძლობდა EMUNI-ს უნივერსიტეტი და აერთიანებდა პარტნიორი ინსტიტუციებისა და ორგანიზაციების წარმომადგენლებს საქართველოდან, ირლანდიიდან, მალტიდან, აზერბაიჯანიდან და სლოვენიიდან.

ვიზიტი მოიცავდა კვლევით სემინარებსა და თემატურ დისკუსიებს უმაღლესი განათლების სფეროში ლიდერობის თანამედროვე გამოწვევებზე. ასევე წარმოდგენილი იყო ლიდერობის განვითარების მოდულები, მიღწეული პროგრესის შეფასება და განხორციელდა გამოცდილების გაცვლა პროგრამის პილოტირების პროცესთან დაკავშირებით.

🔵 An international conference was held, organized by Tbilisi State Medical University, the Association for the Management and Development of Laboratory Medicine of Georgia, and the Ivane Tarkhnishvili Scientific Society:

“Modern Trends and Future Perspectives in Laboratory Medicine Education Methodology and Clinical Practice.”

The event was opened with welcome speeches delivered by the Rector of BAU International University Batumi, Irine Imerlishvili, and the Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Irakli Natroshvili. They placed particular emphasis on the development of medical education and the strengthening of international academic cooperation.

As part of the conference, the Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at BAU Batumi, Professor Maka Buleishvili, presented a report on modern approaches to teaching laboratory medicine.

The conference served as an important academic platform, bringing together Georgian and international specialists to discuss key issues in laboratory medicine education, research, and clinical practice.

🔵 A practical training session was conducted for dentistry students on the topic: methods of examination used in periodontology.

During the session, students thoroughly explored the key principles of assessing periodontal conditions, as well as diagnostic tools and clinical approaches.

It is particularly noteworthy that the session was practice-oriented, with students performing examination procedures on each other while also taking on the role of patients.

The entire process was carried out under the supervision and guidance of the professor, ensuring the correct application of techniques and a safe learning environment.

🔵 სტომატოლოგიის პროგრამის სტუდენტებისთვის ჩატარდა პრაქტიკული სწავლება თემაზე - პაროდონტოლოგიაში გამოყენებული გამოკვლევის მეთოდები.

სესიის ფარგლებში სტუდენტებმა დეტალურად შეისწავლეს პაროდონტის მდგომარეობის შეფასების ძირითადი პრინციპები, დიაგნოსტიკური ინსტრუმენტები და კლინიკური მიდგომები.

განსაკუთრებით მნიშვნელოვანია, რომ სესია იყო პრაქტიკაზე ორიენტირებული, სტუდენტებმა ერთმანეთზე განახორციელეს გამოკვლევის პროცესი და თავადვე იყვნენ პაციენტების როლში.

🔵 Representatives of USHAŞ - the International Health Services Agency operating under the Ministry of Health of Turkey - visited BAU International University Batumi. The delegation included General Director Serdar Şenol, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations Başak Demirci, and representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Georgia.

As part of the visit, an introductory meeting was held, aimed at presenting the university’s activities, academic programs, and clinical fields.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for future cooperation in the fields of healthcare and medical education. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening international partnerships, sharing experience, and exploring prospects for developing joint projects.

🔵 On March 24, in observance of World Tuberculosis Day, an awareness-raising event was held at BAU International University Batumi as part of a broader campaign dedicated to one of the most significant global health challenges — tuberculosis. This day is marked annually at the initiative of the World Health Organization and aims to raise public awareness about the importance of tuberculosis prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment.

The goal of the event was to deepen students’ knowledge of tuberculosis, enhance their understanding of the mechanisms of its transmission, and strengthen their sense of social responsibility. The initiative also encouraged active student engagement and highlighted their role in spreading awareness within the healthcare field.

As part of the campaign, university clubs prepared informational banners, which were displayed across the university. These materials included key information about tuberculosis, such as symptoms, modes of transmission, and main prevention methods, contributing to increased student awareness.

🔵 24 მარტს, მსოფლიო ტუბერკულოზის დღის აღსანიშნავად, ბაუ ბათუმის საერთაშორისო უნივერსიტეტში ცნობიერების ამაღლების კამპანიის ფარგლებში გაიმართა ღონისძიება, რომელიც მიეძღვნა ერთ-ერთ ყველაზე მნიშვნელოვან გლობალურ ჯანდაცვის პრობლემას - ტუბერკულოზს. აღნიშნული დღე ყოველწლიურად აღინიშნება ჯანმრთელობის მსოფლიო ორგანიზაციის ინიციატივით და მიზნად ისახავს საზოგადოების ცნობიერების ამაღლებას ტუბერკულოზის პრევენციის, დროული დიაგნოსტიკისა და ეფექტური მკურნალობის მნიშვნელობის შესახებ.

🔵 A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between BAU International University Batumi and Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of BAU International University Batumi, Irine Imerlishvili, and the Rector of Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy, Irine Shotadze.

The collaboration aims to promote the development of academic and scientific activities, implement joint research projects, introduce educational practices based on international standards, and encourage active knowledge exchange. Particular emphasis will be placed on the professional growth of students and academic staff, the development of mobility programs, and the support of innovative teaching methods.

This Memorandum of Understanding represents an important step toward strengthening partnerships in the field of higher medical education in Georgia and fostering long-term academic cooperation.

BAU International University, Batumi is a newly established teaching university in Georgia, where the three fold mission of education and research is successfully carried out by highly trained academic personnel, latest technologies, laboratories and classrooms.
