Calling all Guernsey professionals in hairdressing, beauty therapy, tattoo artistry, podiatry, and related fields:
In your line of work, you have a unique opportunity to notice skin changes that clients may not be aware of. Early identification can encourage people to seek medical advice sooner and get unusual skin changes checked by a doctor.
Public Health Services and SKcin are offering 10 free places on an online training course, specially created to help you:
1. Recognise potential early signs of skin cancer
2. Confidently start a conversation with clients about concerning skin changes

In addition to the 10 free places, the training will be available at a reduced fee for two weeks so that nobody misses the chance to upskill themselves or their staff.

Everyone is welcome to attend Choices to access specialist information and treatment as well as offering a full range of contraception.
A referral is not required and appointments are usually available on the day .
All services are free for those aged under 21.

All other charges are kept as low as possible.

Guernsey Quitline is launching two new clinics in January, to be offered in addition to the existing clinics, giving smokers wanting to quit the best possible chance of succeeding.

All clinics will offer free, expert stop smoking support from the Quitline specialist nurses, free ni****ne replacement therapy and access to prescribed medication. Smokers using specialist support alongside medication are up to three times more likely to quit successfully than those trying to quit on their own.

Appointments are one-to-one or for small groups of family and friends.

World AIDS day 1st December 2025 -free testing available at the Orchard Centre Guernsey or if you are in town pop into Choices who will be open 12-18:00.

Monday 1st December is World AIDS Day, with this year’s theme focusing on awareness, prevention and breaking down stigma.

To encourage and normalise HIV testing, the Orchard Centre sexual health clinic on Level 2 at the PEH will be running free, confidential ‘walk-in’ HIV testing on Monday 1st December.

The free testing is available from 10am-noon and 2pm-4pm but please contact the clinic on 01481 227707 if you can’t make this as an appointment can be made on a day and time to suit you.

Many people with HIV have no symptoms, and early diagnosis of HIV leads to effective treatment, saves lives and reduces the risk of transmission.
