The Policy & Resources Committee is pleased to announce substantial progress has been made with the potential redevelopment of the western part of the King Edward VII site, as part of the first phase of redeveloping the former hospital.

Following a request for expressions of interest within the care home industry in July 2022, the Committee selected CI Healthcare as the preferred delivery partner. The proposed £5m+ redevelopment project will be privately funded and will deliver, subject to planning permission, 33 much needed care home beds.

The operator will take the lead on the redevelopment and has advised that it is expecting to have the facility ready for occupation in the latter part of 2027.
