Tomorrow is the big day, Healthcare Evaluation Exam. A dog eared copy of the book, a glass of prosecco and we're set. I am often asked how I keep studying, simple, the more I know the more effective I can make Access Medical Treatment services. Congratulations Guernsey on entering Phase 4 of the easing of lockdown. Even though access to medical treatment in Budapest has been temporarily halted, we have received a lot of queries about what is available to patients seeking affordable, quality surgery. Meanwhile, I have been busy preparing for two exams for my MSc in Global Health Policy, the picture shows a sample of my reading list during the lockdown! 🤓 Wish me luck!

Optimism may be difficult to conjure up at this moment but there are some positive changes happening right now. From the rise in phone and video telehealth, which allows patients to access healthcare from home, to the rapid scaling up of clinical trials in search of a vaccine for COVID-19, to a huge reduction in air pollution caused by road traffic and industry. Healthcare services, as well as our behaviours, have changed rapidly in response to this global threat. I am hopeful that the good practices that have been introduced with such speed and lack of bureaucracy will remain to provide more accessible healthcare and healthier environments for all.

As part of my MSc in Global Public Health, I have just submitted an essay about how conflict affects the delivery of healthcare. Even amidst the gloom there is hope. The World Health Organisation and other non-government organizations are active in so many conflict and developing countries where health systems are collapsed, trying to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. The worst-case scenario is that we have a world divided between countries that have Coronavirus and those who don't. So with that thought in mind, keep on keeping on and keep safe.
