Public Health Services is encouraging eligible islanders to get the flu jab, as the best defence against circulating influenza viruses.

Similar to what is being seen in Europe and the UK, an increase in flu cases in the Bailiwick is expected to happen earlier than usual this winter. This makes it particularly important for eligible islanders to have their flu vaccination to protect vulnerable people in the community.

📢 Important Patient Notice – L’Aumone Medical Centre

We would like to sincerely apologise to our patients for the disruption caused by the power outage last night, which has affected L’Aumone Medical Centre.

Unfortunately, we are still experiencing issues this morning and the phone lines at L’Aumone remain down. All calls for L’Aumone are currently being diverted to St Sampsons Medical Centre.

We kindly ask for your patience during this time, as the team at St Sampsons will be handling a higher volume of calls than usual. We are in contact with Sure, who are sending an engineer shortly to resolve the issue.

We apologise to all those affected and want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to fix this as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding

Last year our team was hit hard by the flu, which made the festive season especially challenging. So this year we decided to offer voluntary flu vaccinations to help everyone stay healthy and prepared for the months ahead.

Special thanks to Island Health for coming and making the process quick and easy

Our Story

The practice was founded in 1894 by Dr. V. Gibson. The traditions of caring and dedication continue to be embraced by the partners and form the cornerstone of practice policy. We aim to provide the highest standards of care by both doctors and staff. The doctors are trained and experienced in family medicine and enjoy seeing the range of problems that family medical practice provides. We subscribe to the World Health Organisation’s definition of health; that is, "not merely an absence of disease, but a sense of physical, psychological and social well-being". We believe in preventative medicine and the use of complementary medicines where appropriate. Our practice nurses and other health professionals assist with preventative medicine and clinics involving a wide range of specialist nurse skills. There are established links to allied medical services provided by community nurses, health visitors, psychiatric social workers, dieticians and various self-help groups. As a practice, we keep up with the theoretical and practical advances in medicine and, to this end, the doctors, practice nurses and physiotherapists regularly attend courses, usually within the UK. Since 1994, the practice has been fully computerised.
