Today is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day. Our consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Kalaivani Ramalingam, shares her expert insights into the disease, including key symptoms to watch for and when it’s important to seek medical advice.

Ovarian cancer can be difficult to detect early, but awareness of symptoms and seeking timely medical advice can make a real difference.

Each year, around 7,600 people are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK, meaning approximately 5 to 9 patients in the Bailiwick may be newly diagnosed annually. There have been positive steps in the right direction in the last decade with treatments continuing to improve, and mortality rates have decreased by 19%.

⚽🌟 Proud to Support Our Local Young Football Stars! 🌟⚽

We’re delighted to be supporting the Guernsey Rangers U7 Football Team as they head off on their very first tour!

Training just around the corner at KGV near L’Aumone Medical Centre, this fantastic group of young players — along with their families — are travelling to Jersey this weekend to take on two other clubs. What an exciting milestone!

A huge well done to Phil and the entire team for their incredible dedication and fundraising efforts, making sure every child and parent can be part of this special experience. 👏

At our practice, we know how important staying active is for both physical and mental wellbeing — and it’s inspiring to see such enthusiasm at a young age.

Good luck, Rangers — we’ll be cheering you on all the way! 💙⚽
