🩺👶🏽 Neonatal Resuscitation Training – Empowering Care, Saving Lives!

On Thursday, 17th July 2025, St. Andrew Catholic Hospital, Kordiabe, successfully held a Neonatal Resuscitation Training for staff from the Maternity, Pediatric, Emergency, and Medical units. The training, which saw massive attendance, aimed to build staff confidence and skills in handling newborn emergencies effectively.

Participants were taken through key life-saving topics, including:
🔹 Initial steps of newborn care immediately after delivery
🔹 Assessment of newborn breathing and heart rate
🔹 Airway positioning and suctioning techniques
🔹 Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV)
🔹 Chest compressions in neonates
🔹 Use of resuscitation equipment and teamwork during emergencies
🔹 When and how to escalate care

The session was led by a distinguished team of facilitators:

On 16th July, 2025, Dr. Sr. Mini Kuruvila (Hospital Manager) and Mr. Gershon Keti (Chief Accountant) of St. Andrew Catholic Hospital, Kordiabe, paid an official visit to Hon. Ignatius Godfred Dodoe, the newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) of Shai-Osudoku District. Hon. Dodoe, who was unanimously confirmed on May 23, 2025, brings renewed energy to local leadership

The visit served to:

Congratulate the new DCE and extend warm wishes for his tenure

Reaffirm the hospital’s support for district-wide healthcare and development initiatives.

Discuss potential partnerships, including community health drives.

This engagement highlights our commitment to unity and development, ensuring the health and well-being of the Shai-Osudoku community remain top priorities.

🧍🏽‍♂️💪🏾 Physiotherapy Outreach Program – Caring for Our Community! 🧍🏾‍♀️💚

St. Andrew Catholic Hospital’s Physiotherapy Unit recently organized a special outreach program for the wonderful people of Kordiabe and its surrounding communities, right here at our facility.

The initiative aimed at promoting awareness on physical wellness, educating participants on the importance of early physiotherapy intervention, and offering free assessments and consultations for various musculoskeletal and mobility issues.

On Saturday, 21st June 2025, we had the joy of welcoming Women With Purpose (WWP) – a vibrant community of Christ-centered women dedicated to purposeful living and spiritual impact.

Their visit was filled with compassion, prayer, and encouragement. The team toured every department, spent time with our staff, and prayed for our patients on admission.

In a deeply touching gesture, WWP donated cash support for underprivileged patients, especially children whose families struggle with hospital bills.

👩‍⚕️ Pregnancy School – Empowering Mothers Through Knowledge! 🤰

Today, our Antenatal Care (ANC) Clinic hosted another impactful session of the **Pregnancy School**, bringing together expectant mothers for a time of learning, interaction, and empowerment.

The session focused on two critical topics in maternal health:

🦠 HIV in Pregnancy – Delivered by Madam Millicent Okyere of our ART Unit, this session addressed the importance of early testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, and support systems available for HIV-positive mothers.

💉 Anaemia in Pregnancy: Iron-Rich Diets and Vitamin C Foods– Expertly presented by our dedicated midwives Christiane Adjei-Nuamah, Hagar Owusu, and Patience Duah, this segment highlighted the essential role of nutrition in managing and preventing anaemia during pregnancy.

We are proud to share highlights from our recently concluded Nurses and Midwives Week Celebration 2025 held at St. Andrew Catholic Hospital, Kordiabe, in collaboration with GRNMA St. Andrew Local.

Under the theme:
🩺 “Nurses and Midwives are Critical in Every Crisis to Strengthen Economies”,
the celebration brought together healthcare professionals and the community in a spirit of unity, service, and knowledge sharing.

✅ Monday, 26th May – Cleanup Exercise on the hospital premises kicked off the week, emphasizing cleanliness and community responsibility.

✅ Wednesday, 28th May – The week climaxed with a Medical Outreach at the Ashaiman Bus Station–Kordiabe, extending care to those in need.

HOSPITAL BOARD VISIT TO THE FACILITY.

On Thursday, May 23, 2025, we were privileged to host the Board of St. Andrew Catholic Hospital during their official visit to the facility. The visit served as an important moment to reflect on our progress, highlight key achievements, and discuss strategic goals for the future.

As part of the visit, the Board toured various departments, interacted with staff, and commended the team for their dedication and professionalism. They also inspected our ongoing infrastructure project, expressing satisfaction with the progress and reaffirming their commitment to supporting the development of the hospital.

A New Chapter for Maternal Care at St. Andrew Catholic Hospital.

We are excited to announce the official opening of our newly renovated Antenatal Care (ANC) Clinic.
This important milestone marks our continued commitment to providing quality and compassionate maternal healthcare to our community.

The opening ceremony was graced with a special blessing by Rev. Fr. Isaac Amoateng, who offered prayers for the safety and wellbeing of all mothers and babies who will be served in this space.
