Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association - RNMA

Yesterday, the Director HR MOH, and other officials met with representatives of the Coalition of Unpaid Nurses and Midwives and representatives from the Rotation Nurses and Midwives Association to discuss strategic plans and updates to resolve their issues.

Also in attendance was Rev Philimon Gyapong, the Deputy National PRO-GRNMA, Mrs. Laurena Blaber, the Secretary to GRNMA Youth Committee and Mr Philemon Adu Brempong, from the GRNMA Youth Committee.

GRNMA remains committed to resolving the unpaid salary issue for colleagues who have worked 10 months without salary and the Rotation nurses and midwives' who have completed without their allowance as well as the current group .

Kudos to GRNMA for their continued support.

Once again another disappointment by the John Dramani Mahama led administration on the part of Rotation Nurses and Midwives.

After the numerous payments Cassiel Ato Forson mentioned, he could not mention that they even have us in mind. We are highly disappointed in Ministry of Finance, GhanaKwabena Mintah AkandohMinistry of Health, GhanaGeorge Opare AddoMalik Basintale

We trusted Ministry of Health, GhanaKwabena Mintah AkandohJohn Dramani MahamaMinistry of Finance, Ghana do better, we understood that you are a new administration and therefore needs time BUT we were wrong.

We gave you a month ultimatum (June) even though you emphasized that it will just take less to give us financial clearance. Once again, it was another deceptive move as always. 15 months unpaid allowances (12 months for 24/25 cohorts and 3 months for 25/26 cohorts) and yet you see nothing wrong with it, WHY?!

We now believe you deceived us, you have taken our leniency to be weakness and do not even recognize our existence and contribution to the health sector.

We are soon coming to your office in our numbers to stay with you until you release our clearance and allowances.

Colleagues of the noble profession, we bring you greetings from the leadership of this noble association.

It has been over a month now since our last meeting with MoH where they promised to release our clearance in less than a month even though we gave them a month (June) ultimatum.

Upon follow ups, there seem to be no clear indications on when we will be cleared for our allowances hence, we are meeting our mother association (GRNMA) to deliberate on:

1. Ending the delays in the payment of Rotation allowance; the role of GRNMA.
2. ⁠Opportunities after Rotation.
3. ⁠The need to join GRNMA when employed.
