Cassona Global Imaging Nigeria Ltd Launches Capacity-Building Initiative with Neusoft to Advance Nigeria’s Medical Imaging Sector
Abuja, Nigeria | April 25, 2025 – In a landmark collaboration to fortify Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure, Cassona Global Imaging Nigeria Ltd, in partnership with Neusoft Medical Systems, hosted a high-impact professional development symposium aimed at bridging the skills gap in the medical imaging field. The capacity-building event brought together over 70 medical imaging professionals, including radiographers, diagnostic radiologists, and medical physicists, at a day-long symposium in Abuja.
Closing the Knowledge Gap in Advanced Imaging Technologies
The training focused on the clinical operation of next-generation CT systems, particularly in the areas of dose optimization and cardiac imaging contraindications.
“The intermediate-level CT scanner performs all imaging functions except cardiac imaging,” explained Samer Noureldin, Senior Clinical Applications Director at Neusoft. “We also offer advanced devices with diverse applications that enhance diagnostic accuracy and support radiologists and radiographers in delivering timely, high-quality care.”
Confronting Africa’s Medical Technology Disparity
Nketiah Suphianu, Sales Manager at Cassona Global Imaging, highlighted the pressing need for improved access to diagnostic tools across Nigeria:
“This free workshop is part of our commitment to empowering healthcare professionals. We’ve also introduced a 24-month flexible payment plan to make medical imaging equipment more affordable for health institutions, ultimately benefiting the wider population.”
Regulatory Insight: Curbing Unlicensed Practices
Professor Onwuegbuufu Ebere Obinna, Director of Radiographer Licensing at the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), emphasized the dangers of non-certified imaging practices:
“We must ensure that only properly trained, registered, and licensed professionals operate medical imaging devices. Unqualified operators expose patients to unnecessary harm, especially in the use of radiant energy for diagnosis.”
Capacity Building to Combat Brain Drain
Dr. Isaac Pada, Chief Medical Physicist at National Hospital Abuja, addressed the critical shortage of certified professionals in the sector:
“This initiative is crucial. It helps practitioners stay current with cutting-edge imaging technologies. With fewer than 120 certified clinical medical physicists nationwide and increasing cases of emigration under the 'japa syndrome,' programs like these are essential for workforce retention.”
Supporting Young Professionals and Institutional Engagement
Cassona extended the program’s reach by offering internet data support to students from Bingham University and Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) in Nasarawa State, enabling remote participation and fostering early-career development in radiology.
Advancing National Diagnostic Standards
The Cassona–Neusoft collaboration is part of a broader mission to elevate Nigeria’s diagnostic capabilities to global standards. By tackling the systemic issues behind the nation’s 72% rate of delayed or inaccurate imaging diagnoses (2024 National Health Statistics Bulletin), this initiative represents a strategic leap toward sustainable, technology-driven healthcare delivery.

Happy Birthday Ghana 🇬🇭 The Best Is Yet To Come!
Cassona wishes Ghana a happy 68Th Independence and congratulates the new Administration led by His Excellency, President John Mahama.
We have a lot to celebrate this year. Once again, Ghana has proven its tradition of peaceful co-existence, respect for the will of the people, stability and a shining example (to the world entire) that democracy works by dids not by words.
My wife and I came to these shores three years ago to introduce Cassona as a healthcare solutions company. Our primary goal was, and continues to be, working with people who have dedicated themselves to this country and to help usher in our modern healthcare system, in a patriotic way; thus, nudging our country towards medical and healthcare independence.
Through our years here, which is little less than three years, I have realized that if we work together, Ghana can be the country with the best healthcare system in the African sub-Saharan region.
Cassona came into Ghana as a transplant from the United States. But I am a Ghanian by blood because my mother was born in Accra, Ghana. And she was the person that taught me the generous spirit of this country, which welcomes everyone with open arms. Since 2022, my commitment to our core goal has never wavered despite all the challenges. As a team, we have dedicated ourselves to creating sustainable healthcare solutions beginning with providing our healthcare professionals and facilities with access to the necessary and essential medical diagnostic equipment/tools and supporting it with affordable prices and payments plans.
Though it appears there are many peddlers in the market of healthcare tools, when we came to Ghana, I felt the urge to reform the fundamental issues that our continent has endured for decades: affordability of healthcare tools and services: while our populations are among the poorest, we Africans have paid the highest and disproportionate price for healthcare. The cost of importing healthcare tools is the highest, the cost of maintenance of existing equipment is also the highest, based on the peoples’ purchasing power across the world. In addition, we are also losing our best medical minds to foreign countries every day because they simply cannot bear looking at a non-working healthcare system with very limited availability of tools without the ability to do something about it.
The above all seem to be depressing facts, but I see a promising future because in my years living in Ghana as a returned son, I have witnessed Cassona work with like-minded partners to change the landscape of the healthcare industry every day, and that’s what keeps my team and I going; looking for better ways to make a difference in healthcare delivery and to bring in better affordable and modern medical tools to serve our clients every day.
Looking forward to this year, Cassona is about to open our new Operational Headquarters (OHQ) for the Sub-Saharan Africa Region in Accra (launch date is June 2025). The new location would house our administrative and sales offices. In addition, we are adding a fully equipped diagnostic center and a medical professional training center (with Application Specialists). To further support Ghana and the West Africa region, Cassona plans to offer hands-on training to doctors, radiologists and medical professionals on the use of modern healthcare tools. As a returned son who fought my way up the ladder in the United States, I hope to help the young people to acquire practical healthcare skillsets in our own country and to serve our motherland here at home.
As always, Cassona will continue to support the community. To our University Medical Schools, we would wish to offer free hands-on clinical training workshops to students on a regular basis to ensure that as many as possible would be able to participate. In addition, Cassona also has began to donate Science Laboratory equipment to middle schools to ensure our next generation would not fall behind in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (“STEM”) education.
As a private businessperson, I have no interest in politics. However, when I watched the joyful crowds dancing on the streets after the Ghana election, it gave me a lot of hope for the journey ahead of us. Let’s all join forces: private healthcare, public healthcare and private citizens. Together we will succeed.
The best is yet to come.
Happy Independence Day Ghana!

Happy Birthday Ghana 🇬🇭 The Best Is Yet To Come!
Cassona Global Imaging's Journey and Partnerships in 2024: A Year of Milestones and Impact
Cassona Global Imaging (“Cassona”) and its valued partners experienced a transformative 2024, marked by significant collaborations, installations, sponsorships, and philanthropic initiatives. From pioneering medical advancements to meaningful community contributions, here’s a concise overview of our journey.
First Quarter: Strengthening Global Partnerships
The year began with our founder, Mr. John Chigbu (Chief Executive Officer), and Ms. Leni Chigbu (Chief Operating Officer) visiting the Mindray and Neusoft Medical System (“Neusoft”) headquarters in China, reinforcing our commitment to top-tier medical technology. Cassona is now the exclusive distributor for Mindray’s Ultrasound and Digital Radiography systems and Neusoft’s full product line in Ghana.
Mindray and Neusoft are leaders in global medical technology. Mindray’s ultrasound machines are widely used in hospitals across the U.S. and Europe for their high imaging quality. Neusoft has developed its own CT scanner systems since the 1990s, making China one of the few countries producing CT scanners domestically. With over 500 units sold in Africa, our partnerships allow us to provide affordable, high-quality medical equipment and expert biomedical engineering services to healthcare providers in Ghana and across West Africa.
In the first quarter, Cassona showcased Mindray’s advanced medical equipment in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale. We also strengthened medical education by conducting training sessions at institutions like Klintaps College of Health and Allied Sciences.
Second Quarter: Expanding Our Reach
In April, Cassona participated in Medic West Africa, engaging with industry leaders to expand our mission. In May, we attended the SMR Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, connecting with medical imaging professionals across Africa. Back in Ghana, we participated in the Radiologists’ AGM in Accra, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the local healthcare community.
June marked a major milestone with the installation of the first Mindray Digital Radiography (DR) system in Pusiga, Upper East Region. Despite logistical challenges, our engineering team ensured successful installation and training for local technicians, bringing advanced imaging services to previously underserved areas.
Third Quarter: Growth and Innovation
In July, Cassona officially opened its Kumasi office, further expanding our footprint in Ghana. We also supplied Delta Diagnostic Centre with Ghana’s first Resona i9 ultrasound system, advancing diagnostic capabilities in the region. August featured a Mindray demonstration with KNUST students and the installation of a Mindray DigiEye 280 Digital Radiography system at Klintaps College, enhancing students’ practical training.
In September, Cassona's leadership team attended the Nigeria-China Economic Summit in Beijing, highlighting our expansion into Nigeria. We also continued our long-standing support for the Private Health Facilities Association of Ghana’s AGM. The quarter ended with the successful installation of our first Neusoft CT scanner at Dimer Health Services in Kumasi, furthering our commitment to advanced healthcare solutions.
Fourth Quarter: Advancing Medical Capabilities
Ms. Leni Chigbu, Cassona’s Chief Operating Officer, met with the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces to explore collaborations. She pledged Cassona’s support for the Doula Hospital Project, emphasizing the importance of national medical independence. Additionally, our engineering team traveled to China for intensive Neusoft training in Shenyang, strengthening our expertise in medical imaging services.
In October, Cassona trained Trust Hospital staff on two newly installed MX7 ultrasound systems, improving diagnostic services in Greater Accra. We also installed Mindray’s most advanced mobile X-ray system, the MobiEye 700, enhancing imaging efficiency and accessibility.
December: Giving Back and Looking Forward
December was a month of giving and recognition. To support STEM education, Cassona donated a fully equipped science lab to Kinderkid International School in Gbawa, Accra. We also received the Rising Star Award from Mindray for our exceptional 349% sales growth in 2024.
We concluded the year with the installation of our first CT system in Abuja, Nigeria, expanding Cassona’s impact on regional healthcare.
Looking Ahead
2024 was a year of growth, innovation, and impact. As we step into 2025, we remain committed to advancing medical technology, strengthening partnerships, and transforming healthcare. On the anniversary of Ghana’s independence, we express our gratitude to our partners, clients, and dedicated team. Here’s to another year of success and progress!
