1. A BITTER PERSON
Someone who is hurt will most likely not be objective, their advice is often skewed as they are speaking from a place of bitterness which tends to make things personal and cloud good judgment.

2. A SEXIST
This person elevates one gender above the other and say things like "Women are always like that, you have to teach your wife a lesson", or "Men are dogs, show your husband you have power too". Love will not thrive where there is sexism because love requires understanding between genders.

3. A FRIEND WHO IS INTERESTED IN YOUR SPOUSE
This friend might keep painting your spouse in bad light so that you two break up and he/she gets a chance to be with your spouse.

4. AN EX WHO HASN'T GOTTEN OVER YOU
This person might keep showing you how they can love you better than the one you are with. He/she will give advice that will suit their end game.

5. A FRIEND WHO DISREPECTS YOUR SPOUSE
Those friends who disrespect your spouse should not be entertained. They will poison your mind and make you see you spouse as your enemy or as worthless.

6. A DOMINATED MOTHER
If you are a woman and your mother is a dominated woman in marriage whose voice has been silenced, most likely she will give you advice telling you to tolerate and also to lose your voice because perhaps according to her, silence and suppression is the woman's portion (mwanamke ni kuvumilia).

7. SOMEONE WITH DIFFERENT VALUES THAN YOU
Their advice will not be in line with your values. If faithfulness is one of your values, maybe it is not theirs. In fact, your spirit will not agree with it.

8. A PASTOR WHO IS DICTATORIAL
This kind of a pastor will want to manipulate you and make you feel you are the child of the devil if you don't obey his/her orders. This pastor will impose decisions on you that suits him/her and takes pleasure out of micro managing your marriage.

9. A PLAYER
A player might incite you to also play on your partner to make himself/herself feel vindicated and supported in doing wrong.

10. A JEALOUS PERSON
A jealous friend or family member might want to ruin the good relationship you have and so will put negative ideas in your mind to mess it.

11. A LOST FATHER
As a man, if your father mistreats your mother, has little to admire him for interms of his character and is lost, honour him but discern the quality of his advice. He might teach you how to mistreat your wife because he doesn't know any better, he might give his advice based on a culture that has negatively affected his own marriage.

12. A BIASED PERSON
Someone who is biased towards you, a certain tribe or who looks up to you because of your career success might find it difficult to give balanced advice. Good advice is impartial.

Be careful who you give audience to. Not every advice is worth applying. Bad advice destroys marriages.

Esther My daughter don carry belle, and she talk say na you they responsible, she added.

My laptop almost fell from my laps.

Ma I don’t understand I said !!

Esther pointed at me ''saying you are responsible for my pregnancy" I was so confused.

Yes oh Mr writer, she said.

Jesu! I have entered one chance, could it be that the c*ndom busted or is she trying to force a baby on me….. God, am so confuse.so thoughts running through my mind.

I remember when I first parked into this compound, I was attracted to it because the environment was neat and clean and also very quiet, a very good environment for writers like me.

I moved into my selfcon, as a bachelor I didn't have much. I arranged everything in my abode the way I wanted and after everything, I prepared a small meal, ate and relaxed.

The next day, I explored the compound. I found out that most of my neighbors were single and only few were married or have a family.

Since I didn’t have a job yet aside Writing to a local station which I did everyday. I was at home often. This brought a little problem between the compound. It was rumoured that I was a yahoo boy, that I don’t work, yet I use an iphone and also own an apple laptop.

At first I didn’t keep ears for the rumors, because I’m a very quiet and simple person by nature not untill the day I came back and found some government officials at the front of my flat.

We’re from the EFCC and we’ve received several news saying you are an internet fraudster, said a fat elderly man.

So here’s a warrant, he said, showing me a paper, we have direct order to search you, your home, your cellphone, your laptop and everything you own, he added.

By now everybody in my compound had gather to see what will happen, some were even recording with their phones.

I smiles and told the man to search every nook and crane in my abode, and also my laptop and my phone.

I sat down outside while the man and his colleagues when to do their job. It surprised everyone that I wasn’t panicking or feeling scared. But why will I when I’m innocent.

There was one particular man that was looking at me like we’ve met before.

After searching everything including my phone and laptop, they were about leaving when the man that was looking at me seriously asked me if I was Scared. I was surprised, but I told him yes.

He smiled and told his colleagues that I’m a writer not an internet fraudster. He further explained to them that I’m his daughters crush and it’s from her he got to read many of my stories.

He told them if they remember when he was laughing in the office and telling them a story of a young man who a calabar girl wanted killing with sèx, and they replied yes.

He told them that I’m the young man who experienced it and also the one who wrote it.

His explanation solved everything, he even handed me a card containing his house address, inviting me to a dinner at his house, adding that his daughter will be so happy.

I collected it and smiled.

My neighbors apologized to me and said the were just being vigilant. I told them it was the right thing they did and that I wasn’t angry.

That evening, A knock landed on my door, I told who ever was there to come in and Esther my landlord’s daughter entered.

I was surprise to see Esther.

Good evening uncle, she greeted.

You can call me Savvy, pls I’m not old, I said and she smiled.

So you’re really Savvy, she asked.

I’m one of your favorite readers on Facebook, she said. But the truth is that I was confused because on Facebook you seem so friendly but in reality you don’t talk to anybody, She added.

I know how many times I wanted coming up to you to verify if truly it was you, but because of the way you live your life with no friends and worst still the rumors you were a yahoo boy, really discouraged me.

infact it was the rumor that really made my Dad caution me to stay away from you, he said yahoo boys always go for Young girls like me, she added.

Okay, I said, standing up.

Dinner that evening with Esther’s family was cool, I got to know her dad, her mum, infact everybody in the house, even relatives that were leaving close by. They were just fun to be with.

After dinner, Esther walked me to my room, after insisting to follow me.

Can I ask for a favour, she said, when we got to my door.

Yes, sure, I said.

Can you please tell me a story before I go to bed, she said.

Sure, I’ll send it to you on FB, I said, opening my door.

No, she said holding my hand, which startled me.

I’m sorry she said letting go of my hand. I don’t want you to send it for me, I want to hear it from your mouth.

Hmmm, I sighed, what will your dad say about you staying out late, I don’t want any issue, I complained.

Don’t worry, my parent are heavy sleepers and also my room has two doors, and so before walking you, I told them I’m off to bed, and I know they won’t disturb me. She said.

Hmmm, your smart, how old are you, I asked.

I’m 22, she replied me.

Alright, come in, I said.

She sat close to me on the bed, supporting herself with a pillow.

Are you comfortable, I asked.

Yes, very well, she replied me.

Okay, once upon a time……..

Before I could even finish the story, she was already sleeping.

I smiled to myself, I don’t know why, but I was feeling very happy, maybe because this is my first time of telling someone a story and not just any body, one of my favorites.

I tapped her and she woke up.

The end, I said when I knew she was really awake.

You’re through, oh I’m sorry I slept off, the story was very interesting, she said, scrubbing her eyes with her hand.

It’s okay, come let me drop you off, I said.

Can I sleep here please, when it’s 5am I’ll go back home, she said.

I feel like spending more time with you, because it feels like I’m dreaming and I’m afraid when I wake up I might not see you anymore, she said.

I was touched, i couldn’t say no to her.

Okay, i said, and she jumped up happily.

I’ll sleep on the couch over there, while you have the bed, I said.

She frowned.

What’s the problem, I asked.

She stood up and went into the bathroom, minutes later she came out, with my towel wrapped around her.

I went into the bathroom, giving her time to change.

I also took my bath, by the time I came out, she was already on the bed, with my big polo on.

Sure why not, are you comfortable in it, I asked.

Yes, she replied me.

I laid on the other side of the bed, facing the wall.

Minutes later, I turned and saw she was already asleep.

Maybe she purposefully raised the polo up because I could see she was Nakèd, and had nothing under her.

I smiled to myself and said, Man I no go fall for this awoof food.

I laid down and slept.

I woke up around 4:30am the next day, I turned and found Esther laying completely bare, on the bed.

I was shocked, but I laughed And was shocked. I’m not that kind of man, who falls for seduction, if I no wan do, if you like Waka nakèd inside my house up and down, I no go send you.

I was about tapping her to wake up, when she stretched and yawn.

Good morning, she greeted me, the moment she opened her eyes.

Morning, I said, staring at her face.

Oh sorry, I don’t feel comfortable sleeping with clothes on, and I forgot I wasn’t in my room, she explained when she saw how I was staring at her face.

It’s okay, please dress up, I said, turning my back against her.

She finished dressing up, and I opened the door for her. I made sure the environment was clear before telling her to come out. I don’t want people to start saying what they don’t know.

She came out and hugged me before leaving.

I’ll see you soon, she said, tiptoeing to her room.

Ah, thank God, I said, feeling so relieved.

I went back inside. I sat down on my reading table and switched on my reading lamp. I took out a script I was working on, and did some editing and correction. I was on it for about an hour plus, before going back to bed.

A knock woke me up.

Oh-oh who’s that nah, I said, grumbling.

Sorry it’s me Esther,i haven’t seen you since morning, and I didn’t see you going out, So I came to check if your okay.

Immediately she finished talking, I picked my phone and checked the time, it was 1:53pm.

My God, I shouted jumping off the bed. I relaxed a bit when I recalled I had already sent the local radio station the story I had completed before sleeping, if not I for done die.

I went to the door and opened it for Esther.

I can tell your just waking up, she said. You know, people who don’t know you will be feeling your lazy, not knowing your one of the hardest and smartest writer I know, she added, before walking in.

Thanks I really appreciate, I said, before my tummy grumbled.

Oh you haven’t eaten, she said, immediately she heard rumbling sound.

Before I could answer, she had already walked into the kitchen and was about switching on the gas.

So you leave alone, but has a four table gas, she said when I walked into the kitchen.

What do you want to do, I asked.

Making you breakfast and launch. She replied and I laughed.

What’s funny, she asked.

Nothing, pardon me, I said. You don’t really have to do it,I can do it for myself, and beside what if your attention is needed in the house, what will you do then, I added.

My parent went off to work and as you know, I’m not the eldest child, I’m only the middle child. My seniors do take care of my younger ones and I do little of the house chores, she said.

She took out the noodles and egg, and switch on the gas. I watched as she cooked and I kept smiling to myself.

I said it’s good to have friends, I’ve never seen you smiling or laughing with anybody here in the compound, not to talk of having any friend.

I rarely have time for that, I said.

That’s exactly what they said, before walking away, I replied her.

The noodles was ready, and she dished it into a big flat plate.

We discussed while eating, before she could realize it, the noodles was gone.

She didn’t say anything, but only took the plate to the kitchen. She came back with the remaining noodles and we continued eating.

I never knew your food taste so delicious than mine, I said, then turned to her and found out that she was blushing.

She looked away quickly and I smiled to myself.

That’s why you should get yourself a girlfriend, she said.

Why do I need a girlfriend, when I have you, I said and she almost choked from the noodles in her mouth.

What did you say, she asked before drinking the water she had removed from the fridge.

You heard me loud and clear, i said.

We finished eating and took the plate to the kitchen, while I cleaned the table. She finished cleaning the dishes, came back and saw me cleaning the table.

Your girlfriend will be so happy to have you, she said.

Why do you say that, I asked.

Well, once dated a guy, who leaves all the chores for me and said it’s my responsibility.

So what was his own responsibility, I asked.

To have sèx, to eat and also demand for money from me most times when i ask him for money to prepare a meal for him. He’ll end it by saying, after all no be only me they chop the food, she said sorrowfully.

Then stop assuming things okay, I said to her before leaving to the bathroom.

I came out and saw that she was gone. I don’t know why I really like her, everything just happened so fast. Well let’s see how it goes, I said in my thoughts.

I did the necessary, and got dressed to go see someone who had a crush on me.

I picked the card from my drawer and dial the number on it. It rang for a while before someone picked it
A deep male voice from the other end asked who he’s onto and I explained myself. It was the man who gave me the card.

I told him I was on my way coming and he was happy to hear it. He said he thought I’ll turn down the invitation because of the incident that occured yesterday. I told him I held nothing against him or his colleagues, that they all were doing their job.

He thanked me and said said he’s about sending me a contact, that I should call it and his daughter will come pick me up, when I reached the state and he ended the call.

I was about leaving, when Esther approached me.

Leaving so soon, she said.

Yes, I replied her. At least to come back early, I added.

Okay, bye bye, she said walking to the other side of the compound.

Soon I headed out to the road. I was about boarding a cab when a tinted Lexus parked in front of me.

Where’re you headed, a very young lady asked, immediately the glass wind down.

Towards Real Estates, i replied her.

Hop in I’m going towards that way, she said and I got in.

Your face really looks familiar, but I can’t recall where we met, she said while driving, that’s the main reason I stopped.

I don’t believe we’ve met,I said to her.

Soon we were in Real Estate and she drove me to exactly where I want to stop.

I’ll drop you off here, I’m waiting for someone, she said.

Exactly where I want to drop, thanks a lot for the ride, I said, about coming down from the car

I called the number the man sent to me and immediately the young lady’s phone rang.

Are you, we both said, simultaneously.

Okay you go first, I said, giving her the chance to speak first.

She was too surprised to speak, she just kept staring at me like I was an angel that came down from heaven.

Please don’t look at me that way, I said, You're embarrassing me, I added looking around to see if anyone noticed us.

I can’t believe it’s you, you know, my dad told me yesterday that we’ll be having an important guest today, but it didn’t interest me, not until he said though it’s gonna be a surprise visit, I’m definitely going to be happy when I meet the person, he said.

I was very curious about who that will be, but I kept on praying that it should be you, and here you are, she added.

Am I this famous, I whisper to myself, but she heard it.

Yes you are, she said. You're my celebrity crush, she added.

I couldn’t help but smile sheepishly.

I’m Nelly O’Neil, she said, reaching out and hugging me.
