5 years later 📆⏳👣

I used to create images like this of my son — editing his little face into superheroes, into capes, into the kind of characters children dream of becoming. I loved teaching children, and in their eyes I saw it clearly: the raw desire to be powerful, to be magical, to be the heroes they watched on screens and in storybooks.

But what they didn’t know was this: they are already more than those fictional superheroes. They carry in their very DNA the strength, brilliance, and power of real heroes — our ancestors. The same ancestors whose courage and wisdom the world tries to erase, even while Hollywood secretly borrows from them.

Today, I feel deeply fulfilled knowing I am in the position to give our children what every African has always dreamed of: stories where they are not the side characters, not the erased, not the forgotten — but the center. Stories where they see themselves as the warriors, the kings, the queens, the starseeds of entire empires.

Through my Starseed Series and other Afrocentric books, our children can finally look at the pages and say, this is me. They can grow up knowing they come from greatness, carrying not just fantasy, but the real, unbreakable legacy of their ancestors.

This is my gift to them, to Africa, and to the future.

Sacred Birth, Sacred Ground: A Reflection by Dr. Eudorah Baht Ammi Kudiabor

As I stood before beautiful souls at Soul Veg Kenya and Abi Organic Market, Nairobi, I felt the ancient rhythms of our foremothers whisper through me. I did not just share knowledge—I shared a piece of our ancestral memory, the sacred wisdom encoded in our bones, our waters, our wombs.

The topic, "Sacred Birth Traditions: Awakening divine energy from conception to beyond," is not just a health dialogue—it is a spiritual return. A remembering.

In West African culture, birth is not merely a biological event—it is a spiritual rite, a cosmic agreement between worlds. Through sacred herbal baths, intentional touch, and spiritual communion, we honour the divine portals that mothers become. We protect the soul of the child even before breath is drawn. We fortify the spirit of the mother before the first pang of labour is felt. Every herb, every chant, every massage is a prayer, a shield, and a song to the ancestors.

To be received with such open hearts, such deep listening, reminds me that this work is not mine alone—it belongs to us all. It is our collective healing, our shared reclamation.

To everyone who gave me your attention, your questions, your presence—akoe na mi loo. Thank you deeply. Your openness is proof that Africa is remembering herself. One birth, one woman, one tradition at a time.

Let us keep walking this path—rooted, sovereign, and sacred.

/ .... ....
Yoni/va**na steaming is an ancient healing practice that is done by safely steaming healing herbs in a special sacred pot for a woman of reproductive age to sit over to allow the steam to bathe her birthing area. It is done precisely for detoxifying and toning of the female reproductive system.
This practice is done among all tribes in Africa and especially by mother's with new born babies and teenagers or any woman in her reproductive ages.

Today, it receives so many critiques by the allopathic medicine practitioners due to the believe that they are the reasons for the high rate of candidiasis, UTI and other related female reproductive health problems.

We live in a modern era where harsh chemicals and other toxic substances are used to make s*x toys not forgetting the antibacterial chemicals they use in the manufacturing of condoms and va**nal/s*x creams. These substances alter the pH of the va**na by introducing toxic substances into the body as well as killing the va**nal flora/good bacteria thereby exposing the body for bacteria invasion leading to all forms of infections which could affect the reproductive health of a woman if not treated timely.

In ancient African practices, va**nal steaming herbs were carefully selected based on their purpose or needs. They were also not boiled for external uses only. Some were carefully selected and boiled as teas for oral consumptions simultaneously.

Some were categorized as herbs for cleansing or treating UTI, others for toning and faster healing of the female reproductive organs especially after child birth where there were cuts or tears, some for either clotting or thinning or desolving blood clots, etc. While it is hard to find the English names of some of these herbs and spices that we commonly used here, the following are just a few of the ones that can be commonly found in herb stores.

Basil, Oregano, peppermint, Callendula, Moringa, Rosemary, Chamomile, Damiana, Yarrow
(make tea out of these and drink as well)

Herbs that support the and organs:
Raspberry Leaf, Motherwort, Mahogany and Peony

Herbs that are :
Witch Hazel, Yarrow, Lady's mantle, Moringa roots, Rose and Juniper

Spices: Cloves, wentia, pr3pr3, asuwusa, etso, ayiku/african tigernuts, etc.

To add, general detoxification and avoidance of constipation should never be over looked. The food you eat also play a major role in the health of your va**na/womb. Eat , high foods, foods, lots of fruits and berries and avoid foods.

Make sure your mate/partner practices oral hygiene at all costs if he goes down on you. The mouth habours millions of bacteria and you really do not want the bad ones finding their way into your va**na. That's a huge call for candida infections among others and make sure his s*xual and reproductive health is also taken care of.

Drink lots of water and wear đź’Ż cotton un**es and bras. On days that you are home, wear lose clothes and do not wear un**es and bra to allow your yoni and breast to breathe. Make it a hobby to burn essential oils everyday. Do kegel exercises and avoid or limit stress. Drink lots of soups and eat lots of salad.

A lot of the ancient herbs still commonly used in Africa have aphrodisiac properties which help in the stimulation and contractions of the reproductive organs hence naturally adding spikes to your s*x life. These are the the little attentions that your womb needs to keep you healthy and confident!

Nurturing Men's Sexual Health...
A Naturopathic and African Approach:

Men's erectile dysfunction (ED) from a holistic and natural perspective, considering both physical, spiritual and energetic aspects of the individual. The definition might encompass:

Erectile Dysfunction in men, from a naturopathic and African standpoint, is viewed as a manifestation of imbalance within the body's vital forces and physiological functions. It is not merely a localized issue but a reflection of overall health and harmony.

Imbalance:
ED is seen as a disruption in the flow of vital energy within the body. Naturopathic practitioners believe that imbalances in the energetic pathways can affect the reproductive system, leading to difficulties in achieving and maintaining a satisfactory er****on.

Health Indicator:
Rather than isolating ED as a standalone issue, naturopathic doctors consider it as an indicator of the individual's overall health. Factors such as lifestyle, diet, emotional well-being, and environmental influences are assessed to understand the root causes.

and Herbal Support:
Naturopathic approaches often involve recommendations for specific nutritional changes and herbal interventions. Foods and herbs that promote circulation, hormonal balance, and overall vitality may be suggested to address underlying causes of ED.

Modification:
A naturopathic doctor might emphasize lifestyle modifications to improve overall well-being. This includes stress reduction techniques, adequate sleep, regular physical activity, and mindfulness practices to enhance mental and emotional health.

Treatment Plans:
Treatment plans are tailored to the unique constitution and needs of the individual. Naturopathic medicine recognizes the importance of personalized care, considering that each person's body responds differently to various interventions.

Underlying Causes:
Naturopathic practitioners aim to identify and address the root causes of ED. This may involve investigating hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, circulatory issues, or emotional stressors that contribute to the condition.

In summary, a naturopathic approach to men's erectile dysfunction in Africa integrates the principles of holistic health, energy balance, and natural interventions to restore harmony within the body and promote overall well-being.

In ancient African times, the prevalence of erectile dysfunction was notably scarce, and traditional societies thrived on holistic approaches to health that often included herbal remedies and lifestyle practices. The shift towards a more Westernized lifestyle in African societies, marked by changes in diet, sedentary habits, and increased stress, has been associated with a surge in erectile dysfunction.

The traditional African diet, rich in natural and unprocessed foods, contributed to overall health, including reproductive well-being. Indigenous practices, such as regular physical activities and communal living, fostered a holistic approach to maintaining health. These lifestyle elements supported robust s*xual health among community members.

However, as African societies adopted more aspects of Western lifestyles, including processed diets, decreased physical activity, and heightened stress levels, the incidence of erectile dysfunction began to rise. The shift towards convenience foods, often high in processed sugars and unhealthy fats, has been linked to cardiovascular issues, which can impact blood flow – a crucial factor in erectile function.

Moreover, the pressures of modern life, including work-related stress, sedentary jobs, and the fast-paced nature of contemporary society, contribute to the increase in conditions associated with erectile dysfunction. These factors disrupt the delicate balance of physical and mental well-being that characterized ancient African societies.

It's crucial to recognize this shift and consider a return to holistic approaches to health, integrating both traditional wisdom and modern knowledge. Embracing a lifestyle that emphasizes natural, unprocessed foods, regular physical activity, and stress management may contribute to reclaiming a healthier balance and potentially reduce the incidence of erectile dysfunction in African societies.

Traditional African herbal remedies for s*xual dysfunction have been utilized for centuries to enhance reproductive health. Good thing is these same herbs can effectively be utilized to address various aspects of reproductive health

The captivating history of African masks unfolds across millennia, reaching back over 10,000 years to the Paleolithic era. Origins traced through rock paintings in Algeria reveal early manifestations resembling today's West African masks.

Diverse in style, meaning, and function, African masks are intertwined with distinct cultures, regions, and religions. Notable types hail from West and Central Africa, showcasing the artistic brilliance of Dogon, Baule, Bobo, Bwa, Mossi, Igbo, Yoruba, and Kuba peoples.

Functionality marks African masks, gracing ceremonies, rituals, and masquerades during harvest celebrations, funerals, rites of passage, weddings, and coronations. These masks also play roles in dispute resolution, social order, and entertainment.

Embodying spirits, ancestors, animals, or supernatural forces, African masks exhibit intricate expressions—smiles, frowns, or grimaces—conveying diverse emotions or messages.

Carved predominantly by men inheriting craft secrets, African masks exclude women, save for exceptions like Sierra Leone's Sande society, where women don the Sowei mask during initiation ceremonies.

A kaleidoscope of materials shapes African masks, encompassing wood, metal, fabric, clay, leather, feathers, horns, shells, beads, and paint. Some incorporate animal parts, enhancing realism and symbolism.

Versatility reigns as African masks grace faces, heads, torsos, or headdresses. Varying in size from small to colossal, they may stand alone or integrate into costumes or puppets.

Dynamic and adaptable, African masks evolve with contexts, purposes, and audiences. External forces, from colonialism to globalization, leave imprints on these cultural treasures. The rich legacy of African masks unfolds as a testament to creativity, spirituality, and the ever-changing tapestry of human expression.

A Profound African Lesson:

In the rhythm of African wisdom, we learn that harboring resentment is akin to holding a hot coal with the intent to throw it at another—it only burns ourselves. When someone causes us pain, the echoes of their actions reveal an internal struggle within them.

In the tapestry of life, hurt begets hurt. Those who inflict pain are often grappling with their own internal wounds, shadows unseen by the naked eye. The profound lesson is not to wish them reciprocal pain but, rather, to extend a prayer for healing.

In the heart of Africa's teachings, we understand that healing transcends vengeance. It's a transformative act that breaks the cycle of suffering. By wishing those who caused pain a journey towards healing, we contribute to the collective harmony of existence.

This lesson echoes the interconnectedness of humanity. We are not isolated islands, but rather threads woven into the same fabric. When one thread is torn, it impacts the entirety of the tapestry. Thus, the remedy lies not in revenge, but in fostering a collective journey towards healing and restoration.

So, as the African winds whisper this timeless lesson, let our wishes be gentle breezes of healing, acknowledging that in mending others, we, too, contribute to the mending of ourselves and the intricate web of shared existence.
