This week the Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Ghana participated in the 11th Symposium on Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM XI) at the MENSVIC Grand Hotel.

As a nuclear regulator, there is the need to harmonize international standards, address emerging challenges, and collaborate with industry, researchers, relevant stakeholders and the next generation in managing the risks associated with NORM in various extractive activities like mining.

NRA mourns the sudden passing of our dear Sector Minister, Honourable Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who together with seven other distinguished citizens were involved in a fatal helicopter crash on Tuesday 6 August 2025.

We fondly remember him as being supportive of ensuring that the Authority is effectively independent.
