INTRODUCING OUR NEXT SPEAKER đź’ˇ

Kezia Sanie Kermah Esq, is a Ghanaian lawyer, social entrepreneur, and youth advocate. She is the founder and president of For The Future (FTF) Ghana, a non-governmental organization focused on tackling child poverty and educational inequality in Ghana. She also serves as a trustee of the Head of State Awards Scheme in Ghana.

She received her basic education at God’s Grace International School and later attended Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast. In 2022, she earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. She continued her legal training at the Ghana School of Law and was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2024.

Kezia discovered her passion for helping others at an early age and often spoke about starting a charity while she was still in primary school. During her first year at Wesley Girls’ High School, she and a group of friends launched a small initiative to support underprivileged children. Over time, the project developed into a fully registered NGO known as For The Future (FTF) Ghana, with many of its members being students from universities across the country.

Through her leadership at FTF Ghana, Kezia has helped impact the lives of more than 5,000 children in Ghana and Nigeria. The organization has renovated school facilities, distributed learning materials to over 3,000 vulnerable children, and improved access to education and healthcare for many disadvantaged communities.

On August 11, 2023, Kezia was sworn in at the Jubilee House in Accra as the youngest member of the 13-member Board of Trustees for the Head of State Awards Scheme by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The scheme, internationally known as the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, is a non-formal education program that empowers and recognizes young people between the ages of 14 and 24. In May 2025, she participated as a speaker at the 54th St. Gallen Symposium.

Kezia has received recognition both locally and internationally as a rising leader and changemaker. She was selected to participate in the 10th Anniversary of the World Bank Group Youth Summit held at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In 2023, she became a Top 50 finalist for the Global Teacher Prize and later emerged as a Top 10 finalist for the $100,000 Chegg Global Student Prize. She was the only Ghanaian woman to make the Top 50 list and the only Ghanaian finalist in the Top 10 category.

She is also a member of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum and a Fellow of the Women Changemakers in Education initiative. In 2023, the National Academy of Students’ Achievement Awards Ghana named her National Youth Icon and appointed her ambassador for the 2023–2024 academic year.

To me this picture is a reminder that even the seemingly strong and powerful people, need a little support sometimes.

I hope we show up for the ones who show up for us, just as much.
