NHIS budget 2025*

I don’t believe the much talked about "uncapping" of the NHIA budget by the NDC government is bringing extra 3.4biillion to the NHIA. The Finance minister’s budget statement last week exposes this fact as revenues are not performing, thus revising the NHIA budget from the said uncapped 10.5billion to 8 billion. See appendix 2B of the budget statement. It is this 8billion allocation that 20% has been capped to Mahama Care. I would have advised the President differently on the funding model of the Mahama care for a good legacy than diverting from the primary healthcare NHIA funding to the said specialised Mahama care. Please leave the NHIA funds alone.

Ato is not forcing on the uncapping of NHIA budget 🙄
