He assured members that deliberate efforts would be made to address internal divisions and strengthen collaboration across all levels of the party.

The engagement forms part of a broader strategy to reorganize and reposition the NPP, with particular emphasis on mobilizing support from the diaspora, which remains a key pillar in the party’s activities and outreach.

Dr. Bawumia’s message reflects a forward-looking approach aimed at rebuilding confidence within the party and enhancing its competitiveness ahead of the 2028 elections.

Yesterday, colleagues and I had the honour of accompanying the flagbearer of our great party, the NPP, to deliver a keynote address at the London School of Economics (LSE) during the 2026 LSE Africa Summit.
In his address, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia called for the adoption of a “possibility mindset” as a foundation for leveraging artificial intelligence to drive economic transformation and deepen regional integration across Africa. He underscored the importance of “Smart Formalisation,” highlighting the critical role of digital systems in transitioning informal economies into structured, transparent, and efficient frameworks capable of overcoming longstanding development barriers.
Dr. Bawumia further observed that Africa missed the first three industrial revolutions due to inadequate investment and limited technological capacity. However, he emphasized that the fourth industrial revolution presents a pivotal opportunity for the continent to leapfrog traditional development pathways through the strategic deployment of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
He stressed that realizing this potential will require deliberate leadership, sustained investment, and a clear focus on harnessing AI—not merely as a technological tool, but as a catalyst for meaningful integration into the global economy.
