As we celebrate Ghana Month, we continue to appreciate the beauty of Ghanaian culture and tradition. Today we highlight the Kaba and Slit, a popular traditional outfit worn by women in Ghana.
The Kaba and Slit consists of a fitted blouse and a long skirt. It became popular in the late nineteenth century when Ghanaian women adapted styles introduced by European missionaries and traders, later transforming them with colorful African fabrics.
Today, it is worn during weddings, festivals, church services, and other important celebrations, representing elegance and cultural pride.
