2) To provide treatment, care support and psychosocial support for infected and affected people and their families.

3) To provide protection from stigma and discrimination in the houses, churches, market places and offices living with or affected by Hepatitis B.

4) Promoting disease awareness, supporting immunization and treatment initiatives, and serving as the primary source of information for patients and their families and the general public.

The African Hepatitis Summit 2025 is just days away, and the excitement is building across the continent. From the 28th to the 30th of October, global health leaders, policymakers, researchers, advocates, and community representatives will gather at the Marriott Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda, for one of Africa’s most impactful public health gatherings.

With 63% of the world’s Hepatitis B cases found right here in Africa, this summit is more than a conference, it’s a call to action. Under the theme “No Time to Waste: Act Now!”, hundreds of delegates will unite to shape policies, and strengthen partnerships to accelerate progress toward hepatitis elimination.

Kigali, a city known for its innovation, resilience, and beauty, will set the stage for discussions that will redefine the future of liver health across Africa. Expect groundbreaking insights, powerful commitments, and renewed energy toward achieving the 2030 elimination targets.

The time for action is here. The world is watching. Kigali is calling — and the time is now.

The Africa Hepatitis Summit (AHS), 2025, promises to be the largest convening on viral hepatitis and Liver health in Africa this October 28-30, 2025

This is an event co-created by community members represented by World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA), AFRO members and the Hq Team; Africa CDC, WHO AFRO and WHO HQ, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI); Hepatitis B Foundation; Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE), Rwanda Ministry of Health and the African Union Commission.

Africa CDC plans to launch its HBV Tool Kit.
WHO AFRO Plans to hold its country managers’ engagement.
WHA will host its NOHep Medical Visionaries Program.
CHAI will host its partners…
Community members will showcase their voices.
CGHE will promote the UN Group of Friends, highlighting Africa's inclusion and progress on HB Birthdose vaccines.
