The Harmattan season is upon us again! As we know, the Harmattan brings very dry, dusty winds that can be tough on our skin and health. What’s your go-to Harmattan hack for dealing with the dryness and dustiness?

On International Men's Health Day, we highlighted the wellbeing and health of men around the world. This year, our corporate message focused on a critical aspect of men's physical health: prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers globally, affecting millions of men. Early detection is vital for successful treatment, as survival rates are significantly higher when the cancer is caught in its earliest stages.

We had an outreach engagement with our clients on the importance of proactiveness when it comes to men’s health as most of them tend to ignore early symptoms due to stigmas. The goal was to change the mindset and let them know that it was okay to prioritise their health without fear. We also had a picture session at our office to mark the day.

On World Aids Day, here is how you can contribute to end the pandemic:

âś” Get tested and know your status
âś” Encourage others to test regularly
âś” Challenge stigma and misinformation
âś” Support someone living with HIV
âś” Promote safe practices and HIV education

Let’s stand together to create a world free from stigma, discrimination, and new infections.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, the WARA team conducted a series of awareness activities at our clients’ premises, aimed at educating their teams on early detection and understanding the associated risk factors. A key highlight of these sessions was a talk delivered by a breast cancer survivor, who shared her personal journey and reflections. Her testimony provided a meaningful perspective on the importance of early diagnosis and the value of support throughout treatment.
We also organised internal activities for our employees to reinforce awareness and promote a culture of health and wellbeing. In addition, WARA took part in the Run for a Cure Africa fundraising event, held at the Lincoln Community School in Abelemkpe, joining the wider community in support of breast cancer research and advocacy.

Earlier this month, our team hosted the inaugural WARA CEOs Summit, bringing together senior leaders to explore the theme: “Leveraging Compassionate Leadership for Organisational Performance.”

The event featured a keynote by Caroline Zagel, Psychologist and NLP Practitioner, who shared compelling insights on how empathy-driven leadership can improve employee wellbeing, boost engagement, and foster long-term organisational success.

With 28 leaders in attendance, the summit provided a meaningful platform for dialogue around mental health in the workplace.
