*World Blood Donor Day 2025 | 14 June*

🩸 Blood is an essential part of every health system. It saves lives in emergencies, surgeries, cancer care, trauma, and childbirth. But access isn’t equal, many countries struggle with chronic shortages of safe blood.

❤️‍🩹 Blood donation is a powerful act of solidarity that saves lives and builds healthier communities.

*Key facts:*
🔷 Just one blood donation can save up to three lives.
🔷 Nearly 120 million units of blood are donated every year, however this is not sufficient to meet the global need.
🔷 Most donations come from voluntary, unpaid donors.
🔷 Safe, regular donations are vital for a reliable blood supply.

*To donate blood:*
✅ You should be between 18–65 years old, in good health, and over 50 kg.
✅ Your blood pressure, pulse, and haemoglobin levels will be checked.
✅ The process is safe and quick, takes just an hour.

📣 Let’s thank donors and inspire more people to give the gift of life!

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. The World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) is a global campaign to raise awareness and understanding of AMR and promote best practices.
