After 3 years and 3 months of serving troops, officers, Defence Civilian Staff and high military command, a send off party was done in my honour as I leave the Duala medical center in Burma Camp to the Public health department of the 37 Military Hospital. Thanks to my GOC and the rest of the Support Services team for making me feel special. I am glad to have had an impact on patients from doing several renovations to establishing a laboratory and an additional consulting room for the community. I look forward to a beautiful journey ahead 🥰🫠😇. A big thank you to all my family and friends who showed up for me. I launched three major public health programs in Burma Camp which included breast cancer screening, oral health screening and substance abuse campaigns and I hope they continue in my absence.

As we currently have about 163 confirmed Mpox (formerly Monkey pox) cases in 12 districts in Ghana, I have started educating troops, Officers and Defence Civilian Staff in Burma camp on the signs, symptoms, aetiology and prevention of the Mpox virus. My team and I visited the various units and Headquarters throughout June and we intend to go to the schools as well in July. Surveillance has been heightened, case management, infection prevention and control has been effective so far. Additionally, risk communication and community engagement is key for this epidemic.
