This gentleman attended our clinic in absolute agony. He’d had a painful abscess on his chest for about 2 weeks, no means of attending any facility for care. He said he’d not slept in about 2 weeks. He was sweating and writhing in pain.

We took him in, assessed and sorted him out, dressed him up, gave him the necessary medications needed and support for referral for follow up care.

He went home and slept for 6 hours straight. The next day he came to our camp full of life, smiles and relief, so happy, said he hadn’t slept in days, gave us big hugs for no reason at all… even went to his farm to bring plantains and others just to give out to team members as gratitude for the relief that he felt.

Just another story of the real impact of the lives we affect in unique ways at the Health Support Foundation.

Water borne diseases are rife in the communities we serve as a result of their sources of drinking water and water for other domestic use. We have had clean water clinics as a strategic water safety initiative as part of our work at to try to mitigate this. It’s not enough to just treat conditions, it’s better to put in measures to prevent them. These scenes from are reasons conditions such as Typhoid fever, cholera, malaria and Bilharzia continue to be an issue in our communities. We can do better. Join the charity train.

We are grateful to all our hardworking folks at the Health Support Foundation who came together to ensure that the Hohoe School of the Deaf and Blind is given a donation of essential items and food stock for the continuation of their important work of special education. Your kindness keeps the work going, it ensures inclusion and demonstrates love for our neighbor.

We will undertake a 3 day project here between the 1st to 3rd of May. This community has unique challenges to which we are putting together a tailored intervention package in an attempt to work with community opinion leaders to resolve. We are committed to making the world a better place, one village at a time.
