This is the official page for Nova Surgery Center. We are the first ambulatory surgery center in the West African sub-region. Our surgeons have extensive experience in in laparoscopic and robotic surgery in the United States, and our facility is set up to the highest industry standards as practiced in the United States and in conformity with local guidelines. At present we perform laparoscopic gynecologic surgeries (laparoscopic myomectomy, hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, diagnostic laparoscopy, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy (A technique whereby a small flexible tube with a camera and light source is passed into the uterus through the cervix in order to examine the endometrium for various reasons including heavy bleeding. This allows for certain procedures to be carried out such as removal of submucous fibroids, polyps etc, chromo tubation, tuboplasty, etc). Some of the major advantages of laparoscopic (minimally invasive surgery) are smaller scars - less than 1cm, shorter recovery time, and fewer complications than open surgery. We are a full service gynecological center. We are an appointment only facility, which affords us adequate amount of time to see our clients. Our primary surgeons are US trained with extensive experience with laparoscopic and robotic (da Vinci Surgical System http://www.davincisurgery.com/da-vinci-surgery/da-vinci-surgical-system/features.php) surgery. We maintain strong ties with our sister Surgery Center in the United States - the Forbes Ambulatory Surgery Center. Because we primarily operate using minimally invasive technique, we are able to discharge our patients within 23 hours once all discharge criteria are satisfied.
