BACKGROUND OF GHANA ASSOCIATIO OF QUASI GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSTITUTIONS (GAQHI)
OUR MANDATE
The Ghana Association of Quasi Government Health Institutions (GAQHI) have recognized good health as a social capital that is indispensable for higher output by the good people of Ghana in general and their employees in particular. Government Establishments or organizations have established health institutions to deliver primary, secondary and tertiary health services to their employees and to the good people of Ghana in general. This group is made up of the quasi – government health institutions owned by government or quasi government establishment such as : manufacturing, mining and service industries. VISION
THE VISION OF GAQHI IS TO BE A DYNAMIC ASSOCIATION THAT EMPLOYS INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES TO PROMOTE THE CONTINUOUS GROWTH OF MEMBER INSTITUTIONS INTO CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE, DELIVERING QUALITY HEALTH SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF GHANA. MISSION
OUR MISSION IS TO MAINTAIN AND SUSTAIN A VITAL AND VIBRANT LINK AMONG QUASI – GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSTITUTIONS AND BETWEEN GAQHI AND OTHER MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR OF GHANA TOWARDS THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY HEALTH SERVICES TO OUR INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE CUSTOMERS BY WELL-TRAINED , MOTIVATED AND DEDICATED
OUR OBJECTIVES
TO PROMOTE COMMUNICATION AND CO-OPERATION AMONG MEMBER HEALTH INSTITUTIONS. TO PROMOTE THE CONTINUOUS GROWTH OF MEMBER HEALTH INSTITUTIONS INTO CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE, DELIVERING QUALITY HEALTH SERVICES TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA. TO PROMOTE CO-ORDINATION OF HEALTH SERVICE POLICIES AND STRATEGIES AMONG MOTHER QUASI –GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS. TO FOSTER CLOSER PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN QUASI – GOVERNMENT HEALTH INSTITUTIONS AND THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND THE GHANA SERVICE TO PROMOTE UNIFORMITY OF STANDARDS OF HEALTH SERVICE DELIVERY. TO DO SUCH OTHER THINGS AS ARE CONDUCIVE TO THE ATTAINMENT OF THE ABOVE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION AND GENERAL TO ACT FOR THE BENEFIT AND WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF GHANA. OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
MOU WITH MOH
August 5, 2013 Memorandum of Understanding was signed between MOH and GAQHI which made GAQHI an agency of the Ministry of Health. Official recognition was given to the Association by the Ministry of Health in February 2003. Initial support for an Association of Quasi Govt health institutions came from Danida in 2002
