Our objective is to improve the living condition of a neglected and under-served group of the disability community with focus on individuals who became paralyzed as a result of injuries relating to the spinal cord, among other causes of both sudden and gradual paralysis. There is an important number of victims of this injury but it remains less discussed in Ghana. We create public awareness, empow
er and mentor the newly paralyzed and we provide mobility and accessibility supports in order to boost their independence and to reduce burden on families providing care. We facilitate the victims’ participation in active capacity building programmes both remotely and on-site, depending on their conditions and available resources, with the goal to see them become functional members of the society and to grow through the paralysis crisis they go through.
