From the lenses of Wikileaks and from the lips of very close associates, some of whom have known Nana Akufo-Addo, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for decades, came the bombshell - the NPP Presidential candidate appears to have substituted the smoking of ma*****na for his early morning breakfast.
According ‘Comrade’ Kwesi Pratt, Jnr., the respected publisher and editor of the ‘Insight’ newspaper, Nana Akufo-Addo did not just smoke a lot of the illegal herb, but smoke early in the morning to get high always.
According to the latest leaks of diplomatic cables from the US Embassy in Accra, when questioned about persistent rumors of Akufo-Addo's alleged co***ne habit, Mr. Pratt who was very fair to the NPP candidate admitted that he had personal knowledge of the candidate's drug use, but that it was not co***ne.
"Nana used to smoke a lot of ma*****na," Pratt said, "and I'm telling you, a lot. Even in the morning, there used to be a cloud around him and you could see that he was high. But I never saw him do co***ne, and I think that is just an assumption people made."
In another development, Dr. Kwesi Aning, another very respected security analyst who is head of Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre, is quoted to have admitted that Akufo-Addo had used drugs in his
younger days, but that was now "under control."
He added cryptically that "you can check with German intelligence on
that."
The above revelations come in the wake of the embassy’s own conclusions of the assessment of the character of the NPP Presidential Candidate, that he was arrogant, lacked organizational skills, was out of touch with the ordinary Ghanaian and has the reputation of being a chronic womanizer who occasionally experimented with ma*****na, a category of a Narcotic substance.
Mr. Kwesi Pratt Junior, true to his earlier public pronouncements even before the cables emerged, has refused to go into the matter.
His position was that he was not comfortable discussing in public information he gleaned about people whilst he was personally associated with them.
Mr. Aning, on the other hand, appears to be saying that the information he provided the embassy appears to have been embellished even though some of the cables appeared to be direct quotations attributed to him.
Please read below the entire cable:

Ken Agyapong 'happy' with threat to name 'co***ne politicians'
The Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, has seized on threats by the acting head of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) to track down politicians who sponsor their campaigns with drug money, as the perfect opportunity for him to clear his name of persistent rumours that he is a drug dealer.
The NPP MP had co***ne allegations swirling around him even before he entered Parliament in 2004, and says he hopes to disentangle himself from the perception, often cooked up by his political opponents once and for all.
In one of such accusations which caused a huge media blitz in March 2011, NDC sympathiser and Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu, challenged the wealthy MP and businessman, to prove to the world that his riches were derived from the sale of illicit drugs.
In the light of such recurring accusations, Hon. Agyepong has welcomed Mr. Akrasi Sarpong’s determination to smoke out politicians using drugs money for their campaigns.
He however believes it would be appropriate for Mr. Sarpong to name and shame such politicians rather than warn them to resist the temptation to use such funds for their campaigns.

“That is good. If he has evidence that indeed a politician is doing that, why not? He can go ahead and do it. I am glad about them coming out because that will vindicate some of us. So long as he has his evidence and can trace them, they are not above the law. It should not even be about using it for campaign but the mere fact that you are dealing in drugs, if they arrest you I support that. There is nothing wrong with the statement.
"But for people to sit there without even knowing your background, they disgrace you everywhere including the internet forgetting that I hustled from my village, Germany, America and the rest to make it. We were in Germany last week, and a lady was talking to her friend and she said one of the NPP people who came is a drug baron referring to me. What is this?" he lamented on Citi News.
"My position if indeed it is true," he continued, "they (NACOB) should come out and tell everybody”.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong also alleged that some Government officials are conspiring with some officials of the NDC to frame him up on drugs charges.
He has thus cautioned the Narcotics Control Board to do proper investigations so they don’t end up jailing innocent politicians.

The NACOB boss’s threats followed the recently launched 2011 World Drug Report which estimates that about 21 tonnes of co***ne was trafficked via West Africa to Europe in 2009, a significant drop from 47 tonnes two years earlier.
The report says while global markets for co***ne, he**in and cannabis declined or remained stable, the production and abuse of prescription for opiod drugs and new synthetic drugs rose.
The launch of the World Drug Report was just a couple of days ahead of the 2011 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which fell on Sunday June 26.
Ghana’s Narcotics Control Board has been holding a series of anti-drug abuse fora across

A touching photo from the funeral service of the late Stacy Offei-Darko has touched social media users as it shows the daughter of the late Deputy CEO of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Program (NEIP) hugging her father, Ken Agyapong, amid tears.
The photo shows the little crying with her dad holding her in a tight embrace.
Stacy Offei-Darko died under very bizarre circumstances at the Obengfo Hospital.
Kennedy Agyapong’s eldest son Kenneth Agyapong came to the funeral with his little sister whom her father has said is a very bright child.
The 6-year-old-daughter of late Deputy CEO of the NEIP and MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, broke down in tears after realising that her mother is truly no more when the body was laid in state.
The grief-stricken young girl wailed holding tightly on to her dad who consoled her in the process.
Final burial rites for the late Stacy Offei-Darko took place at the forecourt of the Statehouse in Accra on July 28, 2018.
The service attracted big shots from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) including Chief of

"A resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities."
This means that health is a resource to support an individual's function in wider society. A healthful lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life.
More recently, researchers have defined health as the ability of a body to adapt to new threats and infirmities. They base this on the idea that modern science has dramatically increased human awareness of diseases and how they work in the last few decades.
