Obesity, or carrying excess body fat, can significantly impact fertility in both men and women. For women, obesity often disrupts hormonal balance, leading to irregular menstrual cycles and problems with ovulation, making it harder to conceive. Conditions like polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) are more common in obese women and can further complicate fertility issues.

In men, obesity can lower testosterone levels and increase estrogen, which can reduce s***m count and quality. Additionally, excess weight can lead to erectile dysfunction, making conception more difficult.

Obesity also affects fertility treatments. Women with obesity tend to have lower success rates with procedures like in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to poorer egg quality and implantation issues.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. It is estimated that 17.9 million people die every year from CVDs, including heart disease and stroke. We can change that narrative.

mPharma has been featured in a new report by Hystra which looks at a new generation of inclusive healthcare initiatives that have emerged to address the rising chronic disease burden and improve the diagnosis, treatment, and care for underserved populations, with sustainable models.

Investing in community pharmacies allows us to see the change we have always envisioned in Africa’s healthcare industry.

We have come a step closer to our goal of making medicines more affordable to patients as we are able to leverage scale to bring down the prices of medicines. Through our primary care programs at mutti pharmacies we provide support to patients by connecting them to a virtual doctor and test and treat opportunities.

The true impact of the care that mutti pharmacies provide to their communities is immeasurable. Our commitment to helping them boost their revenues as well as their impact on the communities they serve is one we take most seriously.

Studies show that 50% of persons with hypertension are unaware of their condition, demonstrating a high burden of undiagnosed and uncontrolled hypertension, and signaling the need to increase detection rates of existing hypertension and provide resources for adequate treatment.

Through our mutti Doctor and hypertension disease management programs, we continue to provide access to information, screening, testing, and treatment for hypertension.

The hypertension disease management program is for people living with hypertension. It employs a health coach to teach members about self-care, nutrition, and lifestyle modification to help achieve optimal blood pressure and prevent complications.

Our approach is all-encompassing, providing hypertensive patients with the resources to successfully manage the disease.

We are excited to announce that 60 Decibels has concluded our second independent impact assessment focusing on Nigeria. This was made possible by a grant from British International Investment, a shareholder of mPharma.

It is exciting to see how our focus on turning community pharmacies into primary healthcare providers is helping patients lower their healthcare costs and improve their health.
