âť“ What was the motivation for starting the app?
I think everyone [all five founding partners] had varying motivations but in the end we found that there was a common ground and that is what led us to starting this … some experiences with our own women’s health struggles and some observations of the apps that exist and the kind of information that they’re sharing the realizing that there isn’t as much data around African women’s bodies.

What an incredible experience hosting students from New York University on the University of Ghana campus for the Hilltop Global Group program, a cultural exchange facilitated by ! We had an amazing time sharing our mission at Poka, empowering African women to take charge of their reproductive health and wellbeing. The students split into groups, developed innovative marketing plans, and hit the campus to spread the word about downloading the Poka Health app.
