Disposable sanitary pads are one of the most widely used menstrual products in Ghana. However, according to our 2025 survey, just because they’re popular and widely available doesn’t mean they’re perfect. More than half of our respondents reported experiencing some level of discomfort while using disposable pads, ranging from itching and painful rashes to strange odours.
