DoctorsAct is a charitable health organisation, with an immense desire to meet the needs of the deprived through social work, health missions and interventions. DoctorsAct Ghana – Is a Non-Governmental Organization made up of young exuberant adults united by the sole aim of providing free humanitarian, social and medical services to the poor, underprivileged and deprived in society through educati
on, empowerment and short term medical missions (STMM). We support rural doctors and health personnel through our annual Beauty In Small Deeds (BISD) Humanitarian/Medical Missions, establish innovating projects to improve the quality of life of the various communities we visit in consultation with community leaders and locally based NGOs. DoctorsAct is a Russian-based charitable health organisation, run by students and volunteers, which arranges for students and practising doctors to visit villages in various African countries, including Ghana, South Sudan and South Africa. The charity has sent teams to Ghana on two occasions to Ofoase, Eastern Region, where they work in cooperation with a local NGO, Plight of the Child. Last year, 22 Ghanaians, studying in Russia, volunteered at the clinic, along with two Russian students. DoctorsAct has no government or university support, and obtains its funding from individual donations, African embassies and religious groups in Moscow. Volunteers pay for flights between Moscow and Accra themselves.
