Voice Of The Innocent Children - voicgh This is a legally registered Charity/ NGO that focuses primarily on CHILD HEALTH and EDUCATION oper But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Yes we can.

Voice of the Innocent Children (VOIC) is a non-profit non-governmental organization duly registered under the laws of Ghana; The Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179). VOIC is based in Accra but at the moment mainly operates in Tumu and it's surrounding communities, in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. Our priority areas of focus are on CHILD HEALTH and EDUCATION. VOIC seeks to

help children in the deprived and vulnerable communities in the region and beyond. It is the intention of VOIC to eventually extend its programmes and activities to benefit children in the three (3) northern regions of Ghana in the very near future. The organization has been introduced to the Ghana Education Service and the District Assemblies of Lawra and Jirapa in the Upper West Region including Zebilla and Navrongo in the Upper East Region. Some of our activities include identifying little children in the less privileged communities with congenital medical conditions for which their parents do not have the financial capability to treat. We come in to help the family raise the necessary funding to enable the child get the required medical assistance and restore him or her to normalcy. We also source for financial assistance in the form scholarships for brilliant but needy students in the deprived communities to be able to climb up the academic ladder. To date, we have assisted a number of children go through primary education through to the senior high level. We intend to continue to offer assistance to beneficiaries who excel and qualify to enter any tertiary institution. VOIC was founded in October 2010 by Kwesi Ansah and Adams Mohammed as a result of their desire to render humanitarian services to the poor and needy children who otherwise will not be able to make it due to their state of health or their inability to get a good education. Our main goal is to help build stronger, healthier and educated communities in the deprived areas. We believe that by ensuring these children remain in school, we are empowering them to contribute positively to their communities and the country in the long term. Without healthy and strong children, all our noble plans for them will not see the light of day. We also take these children on educational tours to various places of national interest such as the seat of government, the Parliament House, to have a first-hand impression of proceedings in Parliament, and other national monuments like the Akosombo dam, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the National Museum, the Paga crocodile pond, the Mole game park, to mention but a few. We also take them out to visit other communities so that they can learn about other cultures, customs and traditions. This makes them appreciate the essence of national unity and cohesion. Over the past 5 years since we started this organization to engage in humanitarian work, we have helped quite a number of children who have had congenital problems get medical help by raising funds through the founder’s personal funds and also using his network. The time has come to seek more funds from donors all over the world to ensure continuity and the ability to help a lot more children. We are currently inundated with phone calls and emails from all over the country to come and assist but we do not have the financial muscle to help all these children. It hurts us to have to turn some of these children away because we cannot afford to start what we cannot finish. We will get there. We have helped a few children to go to school by securing scholarships for them from institutions like CAMFED and Save Ghana. Currently we are working on securing scholarships from the Women Empowerment Foundation International (WEFI) for about ten (10) children in the Upper West region from the primary to the senior high school level. We also have plans of adopting a day care center in Tumu and turning it into a model school, set up motivation schemes that will encourage the teaching staff to give of their best and make these kids a toast of the community. We are equally working in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service to organize activities such as debates, spelling bee competitions, and essay writing competitions, all of which will help and encourage the children to read more and get a solid foundation in education. Once the foundation is good you can be sure that these children will sail through and climb up the academic ladder with ease. Mathematics has also been identified as a serious challenge for some of these children. We are in the process of setting up mathematics clubs in some designated schools in order to identify how we can help them pick up and understand and enjoy the subject. We have also in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare re-integrated about 300 kaya yee (head porter girls) under 16 years into their communities in the 3 northern regions of the country. This exercise is an on-going activity. Once we identify those who want to go back home, we give them some skills training to equip them with the requisite skills to self-employ themselves in various vocations and other income generating activities. Some we have also put back in the classroom to continue their education. We have been successful in this direction as well and we are hoping to do more in the future. I hope your involvement will help us perform better than we are doing and also give us more ideas for the expansion and growth of the organization of which the ultimate winners will be the less privileged and vulnerable children. These are some of the things we have done and wish to do more in future

LATEST UPDATE
JOURNEY TO FULL RESTORATION: Habibu Ali Mohammed
Location: Korle Bu Teaching Hospital
Date: 09/09/24
Time: 1:22pm

It’s been over a year since my last update on Habibu’s condition.
The Drs said the last surgery was hectic and he bled a lot so he had to be given enough time to heal and to also recover fully before we go on to do the next surgery.

Habibu came back to Korle Bu yesterday for admission prior to the next surgery and today Habibu’s is back in theatre for the forth surgery and this looks like the final one of the series of surgeries. He’s been in the theatre since morning.

My prayer warriors, kindly help me pray for Habibu to undergo a successful surgery this time too. God has done it for us in the past and He will do it for us again this time round.

Thank you all for your support from day 1 till date. May the good Lord continue to bless us all

On the 27th of May, I came back to you (my awesome Fbk family) with a request, asking for help for a little boy Bright Nana Kwame Oduro Dei who I tried to help in the year 2020 but COVID crashed our campaign. Link pasted above.
You gave me the money I asked for (GHs 8,700) and I paid the money to Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital (Scanned receipt posted). After making the payment, I called his parents to take him to the hospital to get him booked for the surgery.
2 days later, I called the mother to ask if she had been to Dr. Agarwal’s Hospital, I was told Nana Kwame wasn’t feeling too well and he complained of body aches. I asked her to take him to a nearby hospital to get medical attention but somehow, she didn’t take him. After a few days, I called back and they still hadn’t seen a Doc. I suspected the issue was financial so I sent her some money to take him to the hospital. I followed up with calls and the mum said they went to the hospital and he was diagnosed with malaria. Again, I sent them money to buy his medications.
The next time I called to check on the boy to see if he was well and good enough to go for the anaesthesia assessment before surgery, this time the father told me the boy had developed cold feet of some sort. Whenever surgery was mentioned, he got scared and didn’t want to go through with it. I went ahead to find out who the psychologist in the hospital was and I made arrangements for the parents to take him to the hospital to see the psychologist.
I called the mum to take him to see the psychologist and she asked me if I had spoken to the father. At that point, I suspected something wasn’t right.
A few minutes later I got a call from the man who led this family to me for help. He said he had just called Nana Kwame's mother and she said there was an issue which she couldn’t tell me so she narrated their story to this man to pass on to me.
NOW THE STORY
They had taken Nana Kwame to some church for divine intervention/healing and the pastor at the church said Nana Kwame’s condition wasn’t a medical one but rather spiritual so there’s no need to go to the hospital. He was going to show them some leaves to go pluck and rub over the boys' eyes and the pain would go. He would be healed. The parents went ahead with the pastor's instruction, found the leaves, rubbed them over the boy's eyes and the boy said the pain had subsided so the parents decided they wouldn’t go to the hospital for surgery again. They want to trust the pastor.
However, if after 2 months the pastor’s further instructions don’t work and Nana Kwame’s condition doesn’t improve, then they will come back to the hospital for surgery.
This pastor (so-called man of God) has managed to convince Nana Kwame’s parents not to take him to the hospital for surgery.
We have done our bit. God knows we tried.
I have however put in a request for a refund of the money I paid (GHs 8,700) to the hospital. With your (donors) kind permission, I’d like to use this money to take care of other children who genuinely need help or I can also return the money to you.
I’m standing by for your advice.
I am really saddened by the turn of events.

Bright Oduro Dei's Situation

• Bright has congenital glaucoma, a condition that affects his eyes.
• In 2020, a fundraising campaign was started to take him to India for Ahmed valve surgery, but COVID halted those plans.
• His condition worsened, and surgery in India is no longer an option.
• Bright recently had an accident that severely injured his left eye, causing constant pain.
• Doctors recommend removing the left eye to relieve the pain.
• The surgery costs GHs 8,700, which Bright's parents cannot afford.

Hello my Facebook friends & family, let’s do it again.

WE NEED GHS 8,700. Nana Kwame needs help urgently.

All You Have To Do : Give A Little & Share

In January 2020, we started a campaign to raise funds to take Bright Oduro Dei to India to get an Ahmed valve surgery done to correct his eye condition (Congenital Glaucoma). But unfortunately, COVID-19 hit the world hard and we had to halt the campaign. We couldn’t go to India.

Fast forward to last year, we went to Agawal Eye Hospital to see if India was still an option to consider but the condition had worsened and sadly nothing could be done about it. He was however enrolled in the Akropong School for the blind.

Two weeks ago, Bright was playing with his friends and one of them accidentally hit him in the left eye and for the last few weeks he’s been constantly tearing up in that eye and with very severe pain. He can’t even lift his head not to talk about opening his eyes because of the pain. He doesn’t sleep at night because the pain is severe and that it taking a toll on his general health.
Last week we went back to Agawal Hospital and we were told that the damage was irreparable so we have to remove the left eyeball to give him relief from the pain.

We were given an invoice of GHs 8,700 being the cost of surgery, anaesthesia and post-surgery drugs. Kindly help us raise this amount to support Bright get the surgery done ASAP. His parent cannot afford it.

My good dependable friends, please help us to raise money for this little boy’s surgery.

THANK YOU

THANK YOU

My wonderfully awesome fbk friends and family, we would like to say A BIIIIG THANK U to all of you who supported us in cash and in kind to pay the bills and discharge Nathasia from the hospital. Nathasia has been discharged and is back at home now with all her bills cleared at the hospital.

You gave me more than the Ghs 2000 that I asked for so we gave grandma an extra Ghs1000 to help Nathasia continue with the dressing of the wounds and buy her medications. She would also remove the external fixation device attached to her leg in the next few weeks.
Her grandmother could not believe there were angels like you guys on earth. She couldn’t hold back her tears when she asked me to thank you all for the support and love you have shown to her granddaughter. Now Nathasia can start school again soon.

Thank you all once again for coming through for me. God bless us all

HELP DISCHARGE NATASIA FROM HOSPITAL
This is an emergency. Let's do something to help.
Nathasia is an 8-year-old girl who lives in Wa in the upper west region of Gh with her grandmother. She is a class 4 pupil at Star of God school in Wa.
Nathasia was run down by a hit-and-run motorcyclist in November last year while she was on her way to school with her friends. She was rushed to the Wa Regional Hospital where she has undergone surgeries and received treatment till date. She was seriously injured in the left leg and has one toe cut off but for the intervention of the Drs, her leg will have been amputated. Nathasia is better now after 6 months in hospital and in good health to be discharged.
Her grandmother who works with Zoomlion has been able to pay Ghs 2000 of the total Ghs 4000 of the hospital bill. She needs our help to be able to pay the difference and take Nathasia home. Natasia wants to go back to school.
We need Ghs 2K to be able to discharge her ASAP. As she stays in the hospital longer, the bill goes up. Kindly help us to pay the rest of the money needed to discharge Nathasia. Nothing is too small for us.
Kindly help us raise Ghs 2000 to pay the rest of the bill and discharge her.
Please send your support to me on

Hopefully she will be discharged in the next few days.

On behalf of Nhyira's parents, I want to say a big thank you to God for His uncountable mercies shown to this little baby girl, to all of you who hv made it possible through cash and kind for her to undergo this brain surgery and to the Drs in korle bu who have done a fantastic job.

We continue to pray for a speedy recovery so that she will go back home and live a normal life as she deserves.

God bless us all
