What is Prostate Cancer?
Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the prostate, a small walnut-shaped gland in men that produces seminal fluid. It is one of the most common types of cancer in men.
Causes:
• Age: Risk increases with age, particularly after 50.
• Family History: Having a family history of prostate or breast cancer can increase risk.
• Genetics: Certain inherited genetic changes can raise risk.
• Lifestyle: Diet high in red meat and dairy, and low in fruits and vegetables may increase risk.
Symptoms:
• Difficulty urinating
• Decreased force in the stream of urine
• Blood in urine or semen
• Bone pain
• Unintended weight loss
• Erectile dysfunction
