Welcome Speech for the Honorable Minister’s Visit and Donation
Honorable minister, distinguished guests, hospital management, dedicated staff, and cherished members of our community,
Good morning to you all.
It is with great joy and honor that I warmly welcome the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs to Catholic Hospital Battor. We are especially pleased to receive you today, not only as a minister but as a son of this land and a longstanding friend of this facility.
Also, please allow me to take this opportunity to officially congratulate you on your appointment as Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs. This is a significant national role, and we are proud that one of our own has been entrusted with such responsibility. We have no doubt that you will bring the same dedication and excellence to your new office as you have in all your past roles.
We are also deeply grateful for making time to come to us to make this donation to this facility. This timely support will go a long way in enhancing service delivery, particularly in critical areas. Your continued commitment to the health and well-being of the people in this district is something we hold in high regard.
But like Oliver Twist, we are compelled to ask for more. In 2027, Catholic Hospital Battor will celebrate 70 years of service to this community and beyond. As we look to the future, we have some pressing infrastructure needs. We humbly seek your support as we plan to upgrade our theatre block into a one-storey facility and expand our maternal and child health block to accommodate the growing number of clients we serve daily. These expansions are crucial to ensure safe, timely, and comprehensive care for all.
In addition to our needs, we have formally written to MOH requesting some equipment, especially CT scan machines, among others.
Honorable Minister, your visit here today is a source of encouragement and hope. Most especially, in not too distance past, some nurses were on strike, and our hospital was overwhelmed with patients, but our nurses kept faith with our mission and vision and stayed at post. On behalf of the hospital leadership and the entire staff, we thank you for your past and continuous support to our facility and the healthcare sector in this district.
We look forward to even greater collaboration as we strive to uphold the highest standards in healthcare.
Once again, congratulations, welcome, and Akoe nawo.
God bless you, and God bless Catholic Hospital Battor.
