Thank you to everyone who participated in National Eosinophilic Week! Your involvement helped highlight eosinophil-associated diseases to the community and raised vital funds for research. While has concluded, our efforts to raise awareness, support, educate, advocate and fund research continues.

Here are a few highlights from our awareness week:

• 120 landmarks around Australia and New Zealand illuminated pink and purple (the colours of eosinophils) in our campaign: https://eosaware.com/LightUpLandmarks

• We shared about the lived experience through our campaign. If you missed them, you can find Aaliyah’s, Connor’s, Ezra’s, Matthew’s and Oliver’s stories on our website: https://eosaware.com/myeadstories

• Through our , $6,014 has been raised for eosinophilic disease research. We have fallen short of our goal of $8,000, so please, , if you can, make a donation to our campaign here: https://www.top8challenge.com/donate

How did you get involved? Did you wear pink and purple? Did you take our Top 8 Challenge? Have you visited a light up? We’ve loved seeing your photos! If you haven’t shared yours yet, and would like to, please send an email to admin@ausee.org – we will be including a selection of photos on our website.

“Standing Strong: Our Journey with Epilepsy”

We want to share a deeply personal story about our journey alongside my brother, who bravely battled epilepsy. In a society where stigma often overshadows support, we faced immense challenges, but our family's love and determination never wavered.

Our brother, Emmanuel, faced not only the physical struggles of epilepsy but also the harsh realities of societal judgment. Many of his friends drifted away, and support from others was fleeting. Despite this, our family remained steadfast by his side, offering unwavering love and support.

The journey was not easy. We encountered financial burdens, traveling from one health facility to another in search of effective treatment. Prayer centers became a refuge of hope, but the road to finding the right solution was long and arduous.

Through our experiences, we realized the critical importance of support networks. Our family's support, along with dedicated healthcare professionals, made a world of difference in Emmanuel's journey. It's a reminder of the power of compassion and understanding in dealing with epilepsy.

Epilepsy affects millions worldwide, yet misconceptions and stigma persist. Let's break the silence and educate ourselves. Epilepsy is a neurological condition characterized by recurrent seizures. It can impact anyone, regardless of age or background.

Join us in raising awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding epilepsy. Share your stories, ask questions, or simply spread the message of understanding and support. Together, we can make a difference.
